If your 5 year old fits into the stroller pretty well, and it's not too hard to push, I would bring it. 5 seems to be the divided line on needing a stroller or not. Ours did not, but many do It will be nice have at least two of them contained during really busy times or places. Another option would be to rent a park double as you need it. Easy to climb in and out and switch out and even the oldest could sneak a turn as needed.

Personally I would bring the double. My sons are similar in age just turned 4 and 6 and my oldest will have turned 8 for our trip in June, I am using a double. My feeling is I rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. It may also depend on when you will be there. For us it is in June when it is hot and crowded. I just feel safer knowing I can put two of them in a stroller to get through bigger crowds or groups. Good luck with whatever you decide and enjoy!

I think I agree! I asked my 4 year old and he Said he would like to ave somewhere to sit. Plus our dbl fold down smaller than the single. He is a tank, so there is no carrying him. Our hope is to use during day and when we go at night, to try and be stroller free. We take a leisurely dinner and pace in evening.

While I know how cumbersome double strollers can be (my first two are twins, so that's all I used for years!) I personally HATE having to deal with 2 strollers and I think you're going to need a stroller for both the younger two, and even the oldest will likely sneak a ride on occasion. So I say bring or rent a double. It frees up one adult to run FPs, or just have a set of "free" hands. If you bring two singles you're both dealing with a stroller and IMO, that's a bigger hassle than dealing with a double. Our plan this trip is to rent a nicer double for all 3 of ours to share. Even though our twins will be 6, there's no way they'll both walk the entire time without LOTS of whining. And that's definitely a fast way to make a vacation no fun!

I totally agree but can't wait to not have to deal with it!

Take at least a single. That 3 year old will get heavy real fast at the end of the night. My husband doesn't let them do strollers anymore once they hit 4.5/5. He says "if you're too tired to walk, you're too tired to be at Disney". The kids have risen to his expectations.

But since you still need to at least have a single, I'd probably take the double as a just in case thing for the 5 year old.

We will be going with a four and seven y/o. I'll be bringing a single. I figure that my oldest will send most time walking but if needed they could spell each other out.

If I only had 2, I would totally bring a single. I just can't deal with fighting between the older 2 over who gets to trade. Plus, I agree with the walking to and from the buses at night, someone would be too wore out to walk...

We go again in October, so hopefully by then we can ditch the double!

Another vote for the double. We leave in 7 days with kids the exact same ages. I did it kind of backwards, our first trip we did one single. Our double stroller we had was really hard to push and I never used it. 2nd trip was two singles. On the third I tried a double that my sister had been using. It was an older side by side, not stylish but sooo much easier to push than the front/back that I had. By far the double worked out the best. My kids have always been good walkers so most of the time there is only one kid in it and even times when they all want to walk. But it is nice to have when one of the older two just need a little break. To me it wasn't any harder than a single, also nice to have all the storage. Have a great trip!

I decided to take our umbrella stroller and have a city mini dbl delivered to us. This way we have it but don't have to lug ours thru the airport or to the beach after we leave wdw. It was not $40!

we rented a city mini double for our 5, 8, and 10 year old.

The 10 year old obviously walked 99% of the time. Our 5 year old used it the most in early mornings, late at night and during the day when he needed a break from the crowds. Our 8 year old used it as a break spot as well.

How are they to collapse? I am the kid wrangler for the buses and he is the stroller folder...

Definitely a double. The 3 and 5 year olds will wear down and need it, for sure.

We had this same question before our trip last summer with our then 7,5, and 3 year old. The double was left at home and we took the single - as a result we now have a Disney umbrella stroller

I would take the double - in looking back we should have know our 5 year old would wear down as the week went on and that is exactly what happened.

That's awesome!! I think that would have been us. I am excited to just rent the city mini, so at least we don't need to lug it through the airport or in the rental car! Which means Friday and Thursday- they just need to use 1 stroller..but at least they will have fresh legs..

We took a 2 mile walk last night and said we were getting our Disney legs ready!
