Can you rebook onboard?

Can you rebook a cruise onboard that you already booked at home before cruise to get the 10% off and OBC?
I know I've seen this asked before but can't remember or find the thread
TIA

Yes, reshop onboard and compare prices/OBC. Do some math and chose the least expensive option.

Yes, it's based on the current price when you are on the cruise though, so if the price has increased it may not be the best option to switch to an OBB.

Oh great
We sail in June and have been looking at cruise on the Magic in November. But with the Magic reno's just announced, and that being the only ship we haven't been on yet we really want to go now

Does it matter if the booking is with a travel agent?

You can designate a TA when you book onboard, and you will get DCL's OBB benefits plus the TA's.

When we were on the Fantasy last month we re-shopped our June 2014 Med cruise, which we had booked on opening day. I took the e-mail confirmation from DCL and Costco Travel's info since that was who we wanted to designate as our TA. The price of the cruise had gone up and we were prepared to get the discount off of the new price, but that's not what happened in our case. The CM at the Future Cruise desk was able to modify our existing reservation so that we got 10% off the opening day price plus the $200 OBC. The one downside is that we had paid a 20% deposit when we booked online and we did not get half of it back. I was fine that, though. We designated Costco as our TA and will be getting a substantial cash card from them right after the cruise.

From what I've read here, this experience is not necessarily the norm. Generally people end up canceling their original reservation (assuming they get a better deal onboard), either while they're on the ship or after they get home.
