If you arrive after your PAT, there's no problem. It's really a "not earlier than" time. And chances are your boarding number (which will be the same regardless of what time you arrive) will have already been called.

No that is not problem at all. If your number has already been called you just get in the line to board then.

So if we have a PAT time of 2-2:30 what time should we drop off the car (off site parking) so we can get to the port to get in line. (First timers)

Open boarding is usually called around 1 or so. You could show up around then and probably not have much of a wait to board.

We're first time cruisers and will be doing on line registration in May. We will be flying in the night before and will be using the DCL transfer bus and getting to the port early (probably 11am). What happens if when I do my on line registration all the early port arrival times are taken and I have to choose 2:00 or something? Will they still let my family into the port? Will we just have to sit and wait 3 hours to check in and board? I'm a little nervous!

We just got off the Dream 4 weeks ago. We are Silver members and I selected the 12:00 arrival time. We got to the Port and checked in around 12:45-1:00. We were given the number 27 which had been called earlier so we got on the ship right away. Not sure if it was that we had selected 12:00 arrival time or that we are Silver members, or that we stayed at a Disney Resort and arrived via Disney bus.

My in-laws are Gold members and they had selected an arrival time of 2:30. They arrived with us and were on the ship before us.

My brother and sister in-law had never been on DCL and their travel agent selected an arrival time of 2:30. However, they stayed at a hotel close to the Port so they arrived at 12:00. They were given a number and they got on before we did which was close to 1:00. They were nervous they wouldn't get on until their selected arrival time.

Also, we are going on Alaska DCL and I just completed the on-line check in so I could get an early arrival time. At the end of my check it the computer stated that since I was staying at a Disney selected hotel and using Disney transfers I could arrive whenever I wanted. Which is nice because our hotel is across the street from the Port.

If you take Disney transfers your port arrival time will not matter. No, they won't make you wait. However, pick ups from Disney resorts are not super early (you will not get to port by 11:00). Are you getting DCL transport from a resort or returning to MCO to catch the bus?

We are flying into MCO on a Friday night and staying at the airport hotel. So the next morning we can get up and walk right down to the DCL transfer. We're not doing WDW at, just the cruise. I heard the first DCL transfer bus leaves at 10:00am and gets to port at 11:00. Since we'll have nothing to do with our 2 kids at an airport hotel, I figured we'd catch the first DCL transfer bus.

From reading posts from the prior page, this is no longer the case with transfers from MCO. Apparently, they will let you in the terminal but your boarding number depends on what PAT you selected.

We stayed at the MCO Hyatt last year, and it is GORGEOUS! We were still able to check in at the airport and just loved it. I wish they hadn't stopped that, but since they did, we will be staying at a much less expensive hotel near the port and taking a shuttle from there.

Note that you can not get to your cabin until 1:30. So there is not much point to rushing on board as you will be lugging your carry on around until 1:30.

Pool is usually pretty empty at boarding so you can sometimes get an early dunk. Also prime time to talk to palo or senses about reservations.
