FE Questions

I promise I tried to search these out, but I'm still confused...

If we sign up to do FE's, does every person in our group make one for every person in the other groups? Can we do a gift to the other's from our whole party?

Can people in concierge do FE's?

We're traveling with family who I know will not be up for making little gifts. I totally dig that stuff, and my kiddos would LOVE it. I was wondering how they usually work because I don't want to sign up and disappoint anyone.

Thanks!

Each group has it's own rules, but one that has been common for the groups we have participated in is that each family signs up themselves, not for a group. If you are traveling with three other families, and you signed up only your family would be on the list. Let the others know about the option, and they can sign up if they wish to join in and make a FE gift to exchange as well.

Yes, concierge staterooms can participate.

Your family's FE gift can be individual or family -- IOW you are giving gifts to each person in each family participating or one gift for the entire family.

On your cruise meet thread, someone will say "Does anyone what to do a FE?" And, if enough people are interested, then one will be set up.

Each FE group has it's own "rules" as to how it will be handled.

Typically there is a list of the rooms participating in the FE that each participate room will get.

Usually, it's up to the giver what/how many gifts are given. For the most part, I feel a minimum would be one gift per room/family. Some people give separate gifts for adults and children within each room. Others give individual gifts.

Personally, I give individual gifts. But many others just give one gift per room. Some people deliver gifts every night, others deliver just once during the cruise.

Do what you're comfortable with.

I have read where some people only deliver gifts to the room that have children in them. I don't feel that's right, as there are rooms (and FE participants) that don't have children.

Thanks for the feedback! I don't think I phrased my original question well. If we have 5 people in our room and there are thirty people on the cruise's FE list, do we bring 30 gifts, or 30x5 gifts?

30, not 150. That would take up a lot of room in the luggage.
But that's very thoughtful of you. I'm sure all the FE participants would appreciate all those gifts.

It's up to you how many gifts you want to give as stated. One per cabin, or one per person, or more.

As others noted above, the rules vary according to what each FE group wants to do. Some will set it up so that every individual on the FE list gets a gift. Some set it up to give one gift per stateroom. We give a gift from our family to each family in our FE, but not an individual gift from each of the three of us.

My cabin consists of me and my DH, just the two of us.
There are 6 other cabins in our FE group.
One cabin has 2 adults and 2 kids
One cabin has 1 adult and 1 kid
One cabin has two adults
...and so on.

My DH and I will give one gift per cabin with some small things (candy, temporary tattoos, etc.) for the kids. I just prefer to give one gift that the whole family can use or will enjoy.
Other people give each person an item.

So the no. of gifts can really vary. It depends on the rules of your group, and you should go back to your group and find out what their guidelines are. Each group seems to be set up a little different.

Hope this helps.
