Cruising Alaska - should we bring our own drink cups?

I'm thinking mostly for water, soda, etc as we are not big alcohol drinkers.

Do they have disposable cups at drink stations? How big are they? Any other information we should know?

Yup for sure bring your own mugs and refillable water bottles! The water is great on the ship and although they do have disposable cups at the drink stations, they are very small! Refill your own mugs to be able to enjoy strolling the ship and enjoying your soda at the same time.

The drink stations have disposable cups (with lids available). I think they are about 10-12 oz cups.

You can bring your own cups, if you wish, but DCL requests that you use their cups to fill yours.

When I go to Alaska, I bring my personal thermal commuter cup to fill with hot chocolate.

They do have drink cups at the drink station. They are all about the size of a standard paper coffee cup (there are hot and cold cups but they are all about the same size. The cold cups may be slightly larger.) They do also come with lids. We do like to bring our own cups just so we don't have to make as many trips to the drink station. (Before anyone says it, yes we use a clean disposable cup to fill our personal cups!)

The cups at the station are about 10oz cups. I bring a couple of large refillable cups for late in the evening. When I am on the deck I use the disposable cups but when I am ready to go to the room in the evening or I am heading to find a quit place to read I fill my large cup. You will not need it for dinner because the soda's at dinner are free.

Also take one a good size one to put in some free ice-cream from the ice cream station and then add coke to make a good coke float.

Be sure to use a new disposable cup, then pour the beverage into your personal drink cup.

Sodas at dinner are free....but you have to pay at drink stations? I thought only alcohol and special coffee were not free?

Sodas at meals, and from the drink station are free. Sodas from room service, bars/lounges, and from poolside servers have a charge.

Thanks so much, everyone!

On another note, how much are the DCL mugs, cups, etc that are available in the gift shops? Since we want souvenirs and we want cups, might as well buy them on the ship (unless of course they are ridiculously overpriced).

We are going to buy Tervis mugs for our Alaskan cruise. That way we can use it for soda/water and hot chocolate!

Right now Kohl's has Tervis mugs on sale and they do carry some Disney ones (although they are either 10 oz or 16 oz).

I'm going to order the Tervis from them and get the Disney 24oz.

OP from Tervis, with lid it would be around $25-25 without shipping. If I remember right, at least that is my story I tell DH

These will be gifts for kiddos at Christmas for the reveal

Yes! After googling this I realized I can get personalized cups. I'm going to order them direct from the tervis site and surprise DH with them (we're cruising for our 10th anniversary).
