We did the tour last week.

older kids played in the play area/ watched Disney shows and the 2 yr old toured with us.

We got ice cream at the end and a fastpass go anytime with 3 on each pass for all of us...even the 2yr old. Last week's lines were short and we didn't even use all the fp's!

I was reading up alittle before we went to the presentation and just saw something about resale, but didn't understand the way things worked with points, etc.

the presentation helped me "get it".

We have decided that resale is the way for us if we go forward.

husband is sold on the entire thing for resale. I left the presentation a little nervous about the yearly maintenance fees.

Ultimately, you will pay more in maintenance fees than you paid for the original purchase if you hang onto your ownership for a long time. Annual fees was the reason we sold off two contracts and reduced from 500 points to 325 points.

We took the tour 3 years ago and it was AKV and Aulani. We knew nothing of resale and just plain could not afford it at the time. My husband was interested in a DVC and I was interested in the $100 GC. After 3 hours being there (the guide kept disappearing) I felt like a heal for asking for the GC and he seemed annoyed. Now we can afford a DVC and are actively saving for one. In the meantime we have rented points to stay at a few DVCs and this time I want to look at BCV while we are there and BWV. I plan to as the concierge since we are staying CL and see if they can get us into a room to look at or maybe we will just walk through the buildings and grounds. I want BCV and DH wants VWL. Our thinking is to get two 150 point contracts a few years a part.

I am not as nervous as about the maintenance fees. I plan to use my rewards from my Disney Visa every year to pay the maintenance fees.. so theoretically, after the initial buy in, it should be "free" or almost.... food, tickets and transportation.
