Experience with DCL transfers from Houston Hobby

Hi All:

Would anyone share their experience taking the disney shuttle from Hobby? How long was your wait for the shuttle to depart? How long was your ride to port? Did they really drive north to IAH before going back south to Galveston?

We are currently scheduled for the last day of service (May 18 if anyone was wondering-it was previously reported that the 15th was the last day but it is actually the 18th timed with the Magic departing for the Trans).

Know it's not going to be quite as seamless as Orlando transfers, just trying to figure out what to expect. Thanks!

We took the DCL shuttle for our December cruise and will be using it again next month.

We flew in the night before, so we took the motel shuttle back to Hobby in the morning. We were told to be at Hobby at 9:30. We got there at 9:20 and they were already loading the shuttle (ours was an approximately 20 passenger mini bus marked Houston Medical Center.) We were the last to get on. Once all the luggage was loaded we departed at 9:45. It took 45 minutes to get to the Port of Galveston. This was a Saturday morning, so traffic was light.

The shuttle went directly to Galveston, it did not go north to IAH. We thought the shuttle process was efficient and very reasonably priced in comparison to other shuttle companies. We were happy with it!

THANK YOU! I was starting to wonder when there weren't any responses. Guess the demand is pretty low.

It was very easy!

We used Disney transfers last Tuesday at Hobby. There was a Disney representative just behind the baggage claim area. I think it was next to the rental car desks but not 100% sure. The Disney lady took our names and directed us to a big bus which left about 5 minutes after we got on board. It was a very nice bus with a Disney video playing on the tvs. Just make sure to have your Disney cabin tags on your luggage and get everything you need out of the checked luggage when you get on the bus. The porters will take the luggage onto the ship for you and you don't need to mess with it again after you get on the bus.
