Boston Marathon-One Runner's Story

Hi there,

As many are, I am still shaken from the tragedy at Monday's Marathon. It hit a little too close to home for me as my sister was a runner there.

If anyone is interested, I am sharing here race recap here. She tries to stay focused on the running aspect of the day.

Some of you who are on the #Run Disney FB may have already read this. I posted it there too.

Please tell Lacey thanks for sharing her story. I can understand her mixed feelings, but still she deserves to be proud of her accomplishment. What a great race she had! I had a smile on my face reading the first half of her story, putting the ending I already knew out of my mind for the moment. The fbi will find those responsible and they will be held accontable. Someone will recognize them in the pics.

Thanks for sharing this. I've often thought about all the people affected by this terrible act and how it went beyond those who were killed or injured. I hope that she is able to celebrate her amazing accomplishment in time.

Thanks so much for sharing. I hope she can overcome her mixed feelings and be proud of her accomplishment.

I kept thinking about if I was a few minutes faster I would have qualified for Boston when I ran Chicago this fall. I run about the same pace as your sister and would have been right there at about the same time just sub 4.

This can't change how we look at our sport. I'm running the Bayshore marathon next month, and those last few miles will have a new meaning. I'm so grateful to be part of a sport with such an amazing community of people.
