Question about weather in May compared to September

We have been several times in September during labor day week and it has been really hot and humid. We were thinking about going the last week in May. Is it any cooler than September ? We have never been there in May.

If it is, it's not by much.

May 2011 - D23 Scavenger Hunt - 2 day event - early May

One day hit 95 the other 97 - hot, humid - I think they said record temps for May but I'm not sure. I know we were drinking water and sucking on ice like mad.

It's not much different in either month maybe a little cooler in May but not by much. It's a big shock when we leave home and arrive in Florida we may have frost at home and we arrive to the hot weather in Florida but that's Florida I love it.

I've gone many times in the first half of May, it can be hot, in the 90's, but I don't think as humid, as evidenced by the lack of thunderstorms.

I agree; the end of May is as hot and humid as September. Ugh!

I would never say May is cooler than September, the way I would put it is typically May is on average less hot, although it's possible to get upper 90's,it will likely be less humid and less rainy.May will definitely be the month you start seeing the 90's more frequently,so it will likely be hot and since it rains a bit less there will be some days in May with little cloud coverage and highs in the mid 90's that will feel crazy hot,September tends to have highs more in the low 90's but super heavy humidity, both are bad.It is possible you might still get a really nice day in the low to mid 80's in May with a lot of sun as the rainy and hurricane season don't really start until June, which I remember some years it raining every day in June.Basically May is the transitional month, the last month where it probably won't rain most days and the humidity is still not at it's worst but you can see and feel all of them coming,in September you're in the middle of it,you have to wait until mid October to see the start of the nice weather.

This is what we are hoping for with our upcoming May trip. We know May is hot and we actually don't mind the heat or humidity, but are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be a bit less humid and rainy than what we experienced during our late August trip (hopefully)

We are also going the first week in May. Our last trip was the middle of August - hot hot hot and craaaazy humid! Sounds like May is still pretty warm, but thankfully less humid. I did, however, enjoy that it was still warm outside at like 1AM. Can I expect the heat to be on mostly 24/7 in May as well?
