That's crazy! Don't know if it is true, but extremely fun none the less.

You are welcome!

All of animal kingdom artwork.

I found this interesting about Fantasia gardens.

This blog is cool too. The referenced Wikipedia page is loaded with concepts never developed by Disney.

Small World

I can't believe there are only 289 dolls in Its A Small World.

Also with Its A Small World it underwent a major refurbishment in 2004-2005 to restore original music and install an updated sound system. It was closed again in 2010 for something. I have no idea, but my travel companions were very disappointed.

They are returning in October with me to try again.

No changes in 2010 other than a freshening up I believe. This is also when the entrance and exit were reversed.

I can get some mileage out of that.

This is from AllEars. Norway Pavilion.

There are four distinct Norwegian architecture themes in the pavilion.
  • Setesdal style, with grassy roofs and thick logs - Kringla Bakeri og Kafe.
  • Bergen style, captured here in the Fjording Shop, is marked by gabled windows on close-set wooden buildings.
  • Oslo style is marked by the surrounding walls of the Akershus Castle.
  • Alesund style is typified by the white stucco and stone-trimmed information building where you find the entrance to the Maelstrom.

I need some new material to dazzle him on this trip. What are those tidbits of knowledge that you save for the hardest to impress? What are your favorite things to show people? It can be about Walt or anything at WDW. I need your help.

Also, I need Fantasia references at WDW.
DHS:
* Fantasmic!
* big hat
* topiary of brooms by brown derby
* sorcerer Mickey meet and greet
* statue on top of animation building.
* section in great movie red and hippos dancing on final montage.

*universe of energy - dinosaur fight diorama.
Magic kingdom:

Other locations:
* fantasia gardens - mini golf

Do you ever watch YT micechat? They do a weekly Disney trivia/history/books kinda thing. It is pretty interesting most of the time & I enjoy watching

The Golden Carousel & scenes made of tile when u walk through the castle are made of actual 14k gold I learned that when I worked in Fantasyland

Not sure if Someone mentioned this or not....but Cinderella's Golden Carousel actually changed names in June of 2010 to Prince Charming Regal Carousel.

Cinderella's Horse is in the second row and has a golden bow in the tail

The Carousel was built by the Philadelphia Tobogan Company in 1917 and was purchased by Walt Disney in 1967 from Olympic Park in maplewood New Jersey(YAY NJ)

The original Name of the carousel was Liberty

Again, unsure if this was mentioned yet (heck, I may have mentioned it since it's one of my favorite facts) Look at the face of the grave digger in the HM and then the man on the bottom of the tree where they're climbing to escape the rhino on the Jungle Cruise. Do they look a bit similar or dare I say identical? Same sculptor.

This is just one example of many animatronic clones.

Another interesting fact about Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. In the rest of the world carousel is spelt with one r, except at WDW where they felt the need to add a 2nd one

I have done my due diligence searching the web, I can not figure out what the pink lady refers to. I am really curious now.
