New to this site and excited to travel to DW

Hi. Any suggestions for travel to Disney World mid August? We are looking to book at Wilderness Lodge and have never been there.

Welcome and enjoy your trip planning!
Look under the resorts section for lots of details and photos on Wilderness Lodge.

Hi! Living in FL I would say just keep in mind that it's HOT and HUMID and rains about every afternoon for a short while.

So dress comfortable, hats are good, sunscreen & sunglasses are necessary. Bring them if you can, or get them when you get to FL, because Disney charges a small fortune for them in the world.

Bring rain capes & throw some lightweight flip flops in a bag, and you won't have a problem getting around mid-afternoons, sloshing through the puddles. A small battery-powered water bottle with fan outfit is a great way to cool down.

Also remember August is pretty crowded so be patient, make a plan of attack for what you want to see so you're not running back & forth all day (wears you out and wastes time), and make ample use of EMH & FPs to cut down on wait time & crowding.
PEACE! and all that jazz...
A message from the ecstatic, incorrigible, impatient, hopelessly devoted to Disney child-at-heart,

[i]Sigh... he wants to marry me all over again! And take me to Walt Disney World for a romantic honeymoon... no wonder I'm still so in love with him!!!

We had a wonderful time, but did have our moments!

Pretty much down to my hips on one side, but nice and perky on the other

Plan to be at the parks at rope drop, and hit all the big attractions early.... that's the best time to avoid a brutal line. Get back to the resort after lunch; the parks become impossibly hot and crowded, and a nice swim will do wonders. Then head back at dinner time.

Invest in some mistymate personal misters; they're lifesavers!!

Hit either www.gardengrocer.com or www.wegoshop.com and order a case or two of water for the room. Bottled water is really expensive in the parks!!

Have fun!
