Would highly recommend this excursion. It was a little rocky of a ride, but almost everyone seemed to handle it fine.
The snorkeling was a great spot for kids, we saw sting rays, turtles, all kinds of fish, had plenty of time to explore. Was a trip highlight for sure!
Staff was great!!

In San Juan, we went to San Cristobal, and Parque de Las Palomas on our own. Stopped at a little bakery, and the governor's house (La Fortaleza).
Kids loved exploring San Cristobal, and the tunnels. We went to the Children's Discovery center on our own right outside and had a park ranger to ourselves for about an hour since there was no one else there, it was a great air-conditioning break for the kids.
Feeding the pigeons was a lot of fun at the park as well.
We walked on our own around the city, didn't take the trolley.
We didn't make it to El Morro, but sure got a beautiful view of it from our verandah sailing away that night.
We are booked in for the doubloon on our May cruise. We are travelling with 70 year old parents. What is getting on/off the boat like?

Easy, just a couple of steps down (or up getting out), and then sit on the bench. They help you on and off.
For the snorkeling part you can take the ladder and put your fins on in the water, or put your fins on and jump into the water. We all jumped. But again, they help with getting on and off. Getting back on after snorkeling from the water, I handed all of my stuff up to them, and then climbed up the ladder.

Thank you for the details! From your description they should be fine. We are really looking forward to this excursion!

For those of you who did the St. John tour when you stopped at the National Park were you able to go to The Cruz Bay Visitor Center?

Jeep/car rental in St. Thomas?

Hi all,
This is my first post on the cruise forum! I've read most of these pages but not all, so forgive me if this has been asked before (I did a search but nothing came up).
We would like to do a tour on our own in St. Thomas (have organized tours at other ports), perhaps rent a jeep or a car. I've been looking at the companies online and it's hard to tell which ones you can pick up near the port. Any suggestions? The reviews out there are very mixed also, so very worried!
Any advice you have for rental company and driving itinerary would be fabulous!

Has anyone done the Golden Eagle Catamaran on St. Martin? I saw two reviews on it that were quite different. One loved it, and the other said the snorkeling was bad and the waves were too rough for snorkeling. Any other opinions? We're really interested in this one.
