Tonga Toast or bust!

Hello everyone,

Why do we have such dilemma's about what to get I'm in the middle of a crisis I tell you and it's all about what to order at Kona Cafe for breakfast! So Tonga Toast or Macadamia Nut Pancakes what do ya'll think? I've never been for breakfast but I've been twice for dinner and I've been really really wanting to go for both of these breakfasts but not sure what to order and trust me if I don't decide now I'll drive my friend and the server crazy

Opinions wanted/needed!! Thanks.

Just go to the Kona twice for breakfast. First time get the Tonga Toast, second time get the pancakes. Problem solved

I just had the macadamia pancakes on Monday. They are fantastic. But I don't like Tonga Toast. Too sugary and greasy for me.

I LOVE the Tonga Toast....probably wouldn't care for the pancakes. Personal preference.

1. Check out some photos online, see which looks more appealing
2. Share with a friend
3. Order both and take the rest back to the room for later?

Honestly, after looking at some pics myself, the pancakes just look like regular pancakes with Macadamia nut butter and pineapple on top. Am I wrong?
Tonga Toast is a force to be reckoned with

Do they sell tonga toast at the counter service? If so get it there on another day. Or convince someone in your party to split each with you.

I've had both and prefer the Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes. The Tonga Toast is overly sweet and I didn't care for the banana which became mushy when deep fried. The Tonga Toast is available at Captain Cooks without the fruit compote.

The Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes are delicious. There are pieces of macadamia nuts in the pancakes which give it a crunchy texture.

The Big Kahuna has pancakes with the same toppings, but no macadamia nuts in the pancakes.

I agree with this. Captain Cook's Counter service makes the Tonga Toast and it too is DELISH!
