The 10K did sell out yesterday and yeah I expected the Dopey to sell out quicker but it's at 85% within 24 hrs so that's not bad!

I made a deal with myself last night: if registration was still open for the 10K when I finished my run and post-run shower, I'd add it to the half... it sold out moments before I finished. My wallet is thankful... but I'm a little bummed today. Oh well, that's money to register for a local half in March, right?!

The full was always my original goal. Always. The dream of going all over the World on foot is what made me pick up running shoes in the first place. I was scared of the pace requirement. I was never scared of the distance or the time I'd be out on the course.

After finishing the half this year, for the first time in my life I understood how VERY unprepared I am for this endeavor. If it were not for the better corral placement I would have been swept for sure. I've never felt that fear before. I really have to make every single day this year count as if my racing success depends on it. I need to be lighter. I need to get faster.
Two bits of good news since writing this...

1.) I would not "have been swept for sure" even if I were in the last corral.

Turns out the starting line didn't pick up my chip, adding almost an extra 30 minutes to my time. It has since been fixed and I finished the race at the required pace.

But no faster...

2.) I know where I went wrong in my training. I have a chance to fix them with the Coast To Coast and get a better time. And am definitely IN for this full. That Mickey medal will be MINE!

I won't make the half with what my schedule is looking like it'll be for work & school. I'm looking at days starting at 4:00 am to make it to class on time followed by working most of time until 1000 pm or later. Since I can do some studying at work it won't be too bad that way. I'm just not thinking that the 45 minutes I did get scheduled in fie the gym won't be enought to get to the distance of the half.

If tradition holds there will not be discounts on park tickets like other race weekends and they usually release discounts on rooms thru Disney but they are not just for runners they are open to the general public

Dopey is at 94%. I assume if you want to run it, you'd better register today.

Where do you see the counter that shows the percentage of runners already signed up for the full marathon? I've just about decided to do it and don't want to wait too long

You can’t see it until it gets over 50%, and then it’ll go up on RunDisney.com

Actually you can get discounted tickets by going to wide world of sports after the race. You can only get them on the day of your race (not sure how that is monitored as we didn't purchase). When we went to the expo for the 2012 marathon, we went to the ticket kiosk at WWoS and the cast member explained the details and prices. I do not remember them now. This wasn't something they advertised, but it was available in 2012.

That is so cool! Maybe they will do this for 2013!
