Nassau Carriage Rides

Is the carriage ride worth doing? If so how much does it cost? How much did you tip? Will they let you off at the pirate museum?

We liked the carriage ride and they charge by the distance you go. When you ask they will tell you 2 or 3 different lengths of ride and the price. If you go towards the end of the day you can barter a bit on the price.

We did a 30 minute city tour which is narrated for 3 of us for $30 and originally he asked for $50. We have done it twice, just because it was different.
Some of the carriages are in need of repair but still fun. I think we tipped %5 because he took a few photos of us with our camera.

No need to have them drop you off at the Pirate museum because you can walk there in 6 or 7 minutes from the port. The new straw market is easy to see from the ship. The museum is 3 blocks behind it and to the left one block. Its a large purple building, you can actually see it from the ship, or one corner of it. Just ask anybody working in a store if your not sure but its really easy to get to and easy ice sidewalks to walk on.

We did it. It was $10 a person, our 1-year-old was free, so we paid $40.

I have some photos on our blog:

We enjoyed it. Then we walked to the pirate museum.

The carriage ride is a great way to see Nassau. It was $40 for our family of 4. I will say that I was SO glad when it was over. Our driver would pull right out in front of cars. Didn't stop for stop signs. It scared the life out of me lol Thankfully we survived

$10 per person seems to be the standard price. My DW & I paid $20 - it was well worth the nominal cost. Our driver was both entertaining and informative. Thankfully he was safe and followed traffic laws, unlike OP's.
