Connecting room ? on the Fantasy

We have been placed in a room that connects to another stateroom and I assume verandah. We are traveling alone. I'm not so much worried about the room issue, but I don't want our neighbors or anyone opening up the door to the verandah on our side. Is there a way to prevent that? Also, does having a one of these rooms compromise privacy at all? This is our first time on the Fantasy, so, I wasn't sure what the set up would be like.

The verandas are all locked unless you request otherwise, and only cruise line personnel can unlock it.

If you are leaning on your railing it is easy to see into the verandah on either side. My neighbor and I chatted quite a bit that way!
