Communicate on board

We are traveling with another family this year - on different decks - and wondered best way to track each other down on board. What have you all done when traveling with large groups to find each other. Cell phone and text prob won't be an option due to roaming charges. Is this what the wave phones are for in the rooms? What about small walkie talkies like we've used while skiing. Of course we plan on dry erase boards on the doors to leave messages but other ideas that have worked well?

Yes, that's what the Wave Phones are for in each of the staterooms. You use them like cell phones and can call and text them. Walkie Talkies don't work well with all of the metal on the ship.

Exactly what the wave phones are for. They are cell phones that work onboard (and a CC). Each room will have 2. You can get additional ones at Guest Services for $3.50. Be aware lost or damaged wave phones cost $250.00.

Walkie-talkies are just not that good onboard. Unless you like the "I can't understand you"..."What?" ... SCREECH..."What????"... SCREEEEEEEECH "WHAT???????" type conversations. Generally the people around you don't care for these types of conversations.

The ship aren't all that big that you'll loose each other easily. Set up time to meet up during the day.

The other thing that helps. Get a small white board with magnets on the back. Put it on your room door on the outside. You can leave notes for your family or the other families in your group. This is one of the best ways I have found keeping up with my son.
