If true, I would think there is a much better chance that they will be located on the other side of the resort, in front of the quiet beach in front of Aotearoa

Disney likes to reuse architecture, and retheme it. I'm not sure what the footprint looks like, but maybe they will use the treehouse villa layout for each hut.

You couldn't pay me to stay in an overwater bungalow at WDW. It would be so easy for a water snake to slither up and in your bed. A couple years ago, Pete posted a video of some of the podcast crew fishing on bay lake. There was a water snake in the area. The boat went the other way and you could hear the CM saying that snake "could rock your world"...

I, too, have stayed in a overwater bungalow at Bora Bora.

confused off the dock - sounds like the one at Polyn - but the one near Tahiti (love it) are off the ferry dock????

it will be very, very expensive - why do you think the price of BLT has gone up so GF won't be such a shock - well expect the same for the Polyn.

since retired and limited income - don't think will buy - who knows might win a lottery......

Maybe Disney should focus on guest satisfaction more rather then creating new revenue streams..say like the next evolution of MK monorail resort transportation, resort guest parking and pool access controls.

I am in favor of new revenue streams - and it seems clear that Disney honchos are completely in thrall to the (relatively) easy money of DVC - but not addressing the infrastructure issues will be an egregious error on their part. I am not sure guest satisfaction, when it comes to the monorail resorts, is even on their radar. Hope I am wrong though, maybe GFV and PV will mean good things for the poor old monorail?

Does anyone think it's odd that this would be a DVC venture with only 20 units? Or could this be part of a larger plan that eventually includes land-based villas and the possible removal of one Longhouse, as was speculated last summer? Seems those site balloons that were spotted last year wouldn't have anything to do with the bungalows

They are already overpriced, but heck you are paying for amenities like the monorail. I would definitely pay for an overwater bungalow, but I think I'd save my money for a bungalow in another destination...where the water is blue.
I was thinking the same thing! I LOVE the Poly. Definitely my favorite place to stay, especially club level, but I can't even imagine how ridiculously overpriced (overpoints?) these things will be. A one bedroom suite at the Poly is a mortgage payment every night already...

Where did you hear about the bungalows? Or can you not reveal your source?
