If you want lobster just go to Costco. They usually have them and they are very easy to prepare. They key is to not overcook them like Disney does. I can't stand those pieces of rubber. The chicken fingers have more flavor than the Disney "lobsters"

We had lobster on our 1st 4 night cruise with DCL. Sadly, I can't remember if it was served on the Dream.
Sad that they no longer have the option

Ummm.. your second pic isn't lobster.

Though, I'm sure you knew that. That said.. do you get the king crab @ palo? Forget the lobster, pre-cracked king crab legs? SIGN ME UP.

That would be like saying a cow and a horse are both "beef"!

OK, we get it, the only "good" lobster comes from Maine. And I agree, cold water lobster is very good. That said, not everyone in the US has Maine lobster available to us all of the time. If Bahamian, South American or whatever is available that's what we get and we enjoy it just the same. To many people Lobster is Lobster. Some may be a bit more tasty, but that doesn't make everything else bad. Just different. If you don't like the lobster served on the Fantasy - don't eat it - but let the rest of us enjoy what we get.

I've tried it on two or three of our cruises. First time was rubbery so I skipped it the next time or two and then ordered it again on our last cruise--and it wasn't bad! I think it's probably hit or miss so, if it's available, just order it. If it's not good, that's the beauty of being on a cruise--you can have them bring you something else.

Re: those crab legs at Palo

They're cold. Wonder if you could get the waiter to heat them up for you.

Back on topic: on our DCL Panama Canal cruise two years ago they had two lobster nights. The first lobster was meh. The second one was very tender and succulent. The waiter said the lobster the 2nd night was from a different country than the first. Can't remember what countries he mentioned.

18 mos ago we cruised New England on Princess, with a stop at Bar Harbor, Maine. Loved the lobster at a restaurant there. The cruise did NOT have Maine lobster. whut a rip off.

Lobster night was the meal I was most looking forward to, and the one I was most dissapointed in. Its not the type of lobster that is the issue, its that it is baked and not steamed. Makes it a little tougher. I didnt even finish mine

The split king crab legs are only served at Palo Brunch. Though they generally have chilled snow crab legs at lunch at Cabanas/Topsiders on a day or two each cruise.
