Mother's Day at DL???

So, I grew up in Disneyland practically, but I've never been on Mother's Day. Someone was telling me it's one of the best days to go, but I don't trust that with what I know about weekends and holidays in general at DL. I would love to go again and DH just found out about the Iron Man exhibit coming to Innoventions (he is obsessed), but I don't have any days off for the rest of the school year, so I can't go in the middle of the week. Is Mother's Day horribly over-crowded? If it is, can you think of a weekend mid-April or later that would not be terribly crowded? I'm thinking no, but figure I might as well ask.

We will be arriving on Mother's Day this year. As far as holidays go, it isn't one of the busiest ones, but it's not empty. There is a big dinner at DLH that draws a lot of people. If you are use to weekends it won't be a problem for you.

We went last Mother's Day (2012) and while it was crowded it wasn't OVERLY crowded. We had a great time. They had carnations in all different colors for all the mothers when you walked through the gates at DL. And all day people wished you a Happy Mother's Day. It was a perfect day for me.

I've been on MUCH more crowded days last year (3/13/12 - a Tuesday - was more crowded) and any day we went last December was more crowded.

I would recommend it!

Awesome. Thanks. I used to always go near Christmas, so if it's not as bad as that, I will definitely be going! Can't wait!

We will be there. We went last year and loved it. The Mother's Day Royal Buffet is great. It is really a lot of fun.

I am also thinking of bringing my mom for Mother's Day. She has never been to DL.

Where is the Mother's Day buffet held? Thanks!

Disneyland Hotel in one of the convention rooms. Be prepared for lots of people there.

I suggest calling for reservations. Last year they sold out by late April.

I love living in the Bay Area, but this is one of those times I wish I lived in SoCal as I would love love to spend my Mother's Day at Dland. It would be perfect. (Let's face it though, if I lived in SoCal I would probably also spend Cinco De Mayo at Dland, and Arbor Day and Bastille Day and Juneteenth Day and National Watermelon Day which this year falls on August 3rd.)

We were there last year for Mothers Day and it was a beautiful day. It was busy, but not crowded. Per my moms request, we will be there again this year :-)

I'll be there too with my mom who has not been in 35 years! We'll be skipping the big brunch but having a lovely Carthay Circle dinner. I am really looking forward to it.
