Room location on Fantasy

Can someone tell me if 4E is a good room location? This will be my first cruise ever. I did some research and heard that this room offers quite a spacious verandah.

I have a 13 yr old boy. If that matters.

Is it a good overall location? Is there any place better?

I think 4Es are either in the Aft or Forward. We really enjoyed being in the Aft as it was very close to the elevators and a short ride up to Cabanas & the pool deck. Deck 5 is also where the Oceaneer Club/Lab are which your son might like to spend his time. I am sure that the forward rooms are convenient to other things too. We have not actually stayed in a 4E room, but we had a room directly above on deck 6. We were very jealous the whole cruise of the super large verandahs below, so we decided to book one!

I noticed something about these Dream and Fantasy 4e extended verandas seen in these photos.

Where the ship extension for these verandas ends and curves back to ship, every 5 or 6 cabins, creates a different divider/privacy/view level.
Those vertical outer skins/panels are located here too.

I never recall anyone mentioning this. I always thought all these verandas connected and were all similar.

Between cabins 5546 and 5544 the railing is curved, the partition is not as deep, IMO they are less private, and they may not be quite as wide. They may offer a wider angle view. The partition stops prior to the others which is where the door is for the balcony connection. However the skinage(outer vertical 3 foot panels that run ever 6 cabins from deck 5 to deck 9 - discussed here;
may not make up for the shorter depth panel affecting view.

Of course privacy may not be a priority for folks booking 4e's.

This reoccurs in this forward section of 4e's, also with 5534 and 5532.
The aft section it occurs between 5658 and 5656.
Also of note the cabin pairs noted do not connect internally.

Do these verandas connect. Does anyone have any experience with these veranda connections or their mirror images portside?

As others have mentioned on other posts, there is still the same amount of covered "private" space on 4E verandahs. There is just more additional verandah that is exposed. I would have to say I was in room 6158 in January, and the verandah was by no means completely private. Any neighbors can look by the railing and see exactly what you are doing. The people next door loved looking onto our verandah. The kids especially did a lot of peeping.
