Need help deciding if I should stick with a 6B GTY or upgrade so I can be assigned

The subject pretty much says it all....

I'm booking a honeymoon cruise on the Dream's 10/20 sailing and the quote I've gotten is for a 6B category, but a "GTY" room. I'm wondering if I should look into upgrading to another w/ Veranda class so that I can have an assigned stateroom at the time of booking, or just take my luck with the GTY.

Since this is my first Disney Cruise, I'm hoping the fine people around here might be able to help me decide what to do. Thoughts?

thanks!

Have a look at where the 6B rooms are. Will you be happy with being assigned to any of them? If not, you'd probably be better off choosing a specific room.

Except for 1 cruise, we've always booked GTY and been happy with what we've gotten.

You are not saving anything by booking GTY. If you rather select a stateroom, you might want to upgrade now.

We had a 6B on the Fantasy last year and really liked it. There are not very many 6B rooms so you may end up with one, or you may get an upgrade. All of the 6B's are at the back of the ship which is a nice location. It is very quiet. The verandah has a "whitewall", but it does not go very high and does not impede your view when sitting. I actually like it because it is a place to rest your feet
