We had a lizard in first floor at POP...but I don't really think of them as pests. At least it wasn't bugs! These bed bugs stories have me freaked out!!

I think you answered your own question. "Critters" are all over the resort, therefore they can be anywhere. And yes, they aren't limited to a first floor room.

Going to freak people out now but lizards can climb stairs and walls, snakes can slither to a ton of places, frogs can jump very high, and what you think is a closed door just might let in a roach or two.

Disney World is a nature preserve and I love that aspect about the place.

We had a little lizard in our 2nd story room at OKW last year. It was actually funny - he was hiding behind a picture on the wall. His tail was peeking out the bottom of the frame. I went to the front desk and they told me not to worry, they have people that handle all critter issues. We left for the park and I assume they took care of it. Never say him again!

I had a palmetto bug in the bathroom on third floor at Poly. I now always wear socks when I walk around at night

We also had a palmetto bug/roach run across the wall at POR - that thing was FAST and scared the heck out of us! We tried to kill it but it went behind a dresser and we never saw it again

We also had a large frog take up residence on the room door which was strange as we were on the 3rd floor. For some reason, we took it upon ourselves to help it out and try to return it to the river ( ), but it got away and leapt off the 3rd floor as we were trying to catch it

My kids would consider lizards in the room a major perk . . . I guess there's no chance of this on the top floor?

POR & POFQ - ground floor - many times - No encounters with BUGS!

If we see a bug or a 4-legged mouse, I think you will see this handicapped lady speed away on her scooter as fast as it will go!

POR & POFQ are quite clean. I recommend both highly!

Would you be OK if the mouse had something other than 4 legs?

We've been at all the mods and have stayed on the ground floor for all but one of our stays. There are critters all over the place at WDW. Most of them won't hurt you. We've had the occasional palmetto bug or little lizard in the room. No big deal- the lizards aren't that hard to catch and we've occasionally been able to smack a palmetto bug- but I agree- those little buggers are fast!. Given that WDW is one big swamp, I'm not really surprised by seeing anything, but am grateful that most of the time the wild life in the guest rooms is usually limited to the human kind.

The bugs and critters being mentioned can show up at any resort. They have nothing to do with a resort being clean vs dirty. Florida is a huge swamp, there is no keeping those things out if they want it.

But I agree with you, I highly recommend POR and POFQ too!

I will take any bug or critter except snakes. I live in a rural area and we do have snakes i kill every one i see once my heart rate goes back to normal.I guess its the fact that they move so fast but have no legs that freaks me out.

The only "critter" we've had in any of our resort rooms was at BWI on the 3rd or 4th floor.

We left the patio door open a few seconds too long and a palmetto bug (aka flying huge roach) flew into the room.

I've been on the ground floor at VWL, Pop, POR, BWV, BCV. I have never had any uninvited guests....yet. I have had largish bugs fly in when I've left patio doors open on higher floors. You get lulled into a false sense of security up there, so tend to leave doors to the outside open. But, that's when the bugs fly in!!!
