I was on the Fantasy in February. We received bibs when we checked in and a medal when we finished. There were some very cool looking 5k t-shirts for sale in the gift shop. I think the t-shirts run around $20.

Can you give me a run down on the schedule? What time did you meet, and what time was it when you were finished?

Just got off the Fantasy yesterday.
Walked the CC 5k in 47 minutes... almost crawled across, but at least I finished. Going to frame that bib!!! No kidding!!!

Received a plastic medal that's worth it's weight in gold to me!!!!!!
Yes, I DID buy a shirt and put it on right then.
Yes, I did eventually cramp up and hobble about the Cay,but it was still a great day.

Met up in the Tube at 9:15, but due to a little poor planning on the part of DCL, NOT Megans fault, we didn't get to the start area(bike rentals), until at least 10:30. At least half the people started on their own, using their own watches as timers. It's all about personal best......

Does anybody know if this happens a lot? If we aren't going to start running until 10:30, I might not do it. That seems like it would put a significant kink into the day. I'd want to run early and be done.

Captain Marco got us to CC a little late & then they did not let the runners off first. It made for a huge mass of people trying to exit to CC at one time.

Is it typical for Disney not to let runners off first?

March 1 - 5K

We got off late too - late docking and customs...
Slow walk to the start...late start

Hopefully they'll change that process and get the 5Kers off and to the start more quickly. It would be nice to get past the BBQs before the starter fluid gets poured over the coals!

We were some of the first off in Feb, but we were there nice and early, and we met nice and early, too.

The Navigator for the Cay day (which is given out the evening before) will tell you where and when.

nannylori, you walked 1 minute longer than I jogged. Good job!

I did it last Saturday on the Dream, I have a bib, medal and t-shirt that made my wallet $21.95 lighter
We met in Evolution at 8:15am and started running at 9:01am after walking to the start and reviewing the course.
People have said there is no bathroom break after you leave the ship, but you do walk by bathrooms just before you get to the bike rental and a few of us slipped in and used the facilities quickly.
I'm proud to say it was my first 5K and I finished in 27:33, which was faster than my goal of 30 mins! There were only 30-40 people running, one guy did the course twice and lapped me as I did the second loop, but everyone was very supportive, regardless of your abilities!
Good luck!

Look forward to meeting you PlutosMom319
I am not a runner at all-came in last both 5K's I did at Castaway. The first one was in August and the heat/humidity was rough-took 52 mins. The second one was in November, weather was much better.

I totally agree-that was my motto for Princess Half, didn't finish last but at the bottom of the pack. I didn't think I would finish, but I did-

I do not run at all, haven't built up the stamina for it. I walked the 5K and have seen others do it as well. There are all sorts out there, the runners, the walkers, and the ones that do both.
