Boardwalk or DTD for one evening?
We are staying one night at POR (just to get a WDW fixed LOL) before doing our SW/A/BG trip. So, we have one evening to do something. We have been to DTD every trip, never been to the Boardwalk. We are planning to eat dinner somewhere that evening, should we do BW or DTD? tia

There really isn't a lot to "do" at BW. There are a few carnival-type games and some performers along the BW which could occupy you for 30-60 minutes or so but that's pretty much it.
Forgot to mention JellyRolls if you are looking for a dueling piano bar. That aside, have you take in Yee Haw Bob at POR? Last edited by OKW Lover; 03-16-2013 at 10:26 AM. |

Walking around in DTD is fun, and my family did enjoy looking around the huge Disney store and other shops. I'd avoid it on a weekend night, as it was packed wall-to-wall with people. There are some really good counter service and table service restaurants there, plus quite a few family friendly activities. There's Disney Quest, the AMC theaters, and the new Splitsville bowling alley.
The Boardwalk has entertainers on the weekend, and there are a couple of fun bars. If you have children, it's probably not enough to do for a whole evening there. |

I love the BW area. My family has spend several hours there during the daytime. I think its a nice place to go to dinner, stroll around and check out the performers, walk around the lake, maybe go for ice cream. You can make a nice evening of it. I don't like DTD as much because its super crowded and primarily shopping.
