Thank you so much for the info! Watching from the dock is a perfect suggestion. I will tell her to leave right after the Spectro Magic at 8:15 and head for FW. Thanks again!

We're also going in May. It will be our Animal Kingdom day, so we'll probably finish early. Our HDDR reservation is for 7:30PM. I had thought about taking a cab from Beach Club, but I read somewhere that the cab drops you off far from the Pioneer Hall & you still have to take an internal bus. Is this true? If so, how long is the internal bus ride?

Resurrecting this thread since I have a couple of questions:

1) Is the photo included with the meal? (like at Akerhus, or Cinderella's Royal Table) ...or do they try to sell it to you?

2) How long will it take to get from AK to Fort Wilderness via the buses? 30-40 min? We'll be leaving from AK to make a 6:15 show. If we need to pay for the photo, we'll probably skip it and show up with enough time to just check-in and watch the show.

Thanks!!

The picture is not included. They come around to the tables and try to sell it to you for $30

Thank you. I doubt we'll want the photo, so I'll plan to be there with enough time to sign in for the show. If we're at the AK bus stop around 5 pm I assume that should get us to HDDR with enough time for the 6:15 show?

The photo is not included in the meal unless you have photo pass plus. Otherwise you have to pay for it. You can show up 10 minutes before the show starts if you want to. We did. We were inadvertantly delayed leaving Universal Studios that day then our GPS took us to Wilderness Lodge instead of Fort Wilderness so by the time we got there and found a place to park and took the internal bus we showed up with just 10 minutes to spare. I checked in at the outdoor window over by the bathrooms and she said my tickets would be inside at the podium. It doesn't matter if you are the last one in line going in because your seats were assigned way before you got there so your table will be the same table. Getting there early doesn't get you a better seat. And they make sure everyone is in and seated before they start. I'm not sure how long it would take to get from AK to FtW. I have never taken that journey.

Hoop Dee Doo Arrival

The picture is extra. As someone stated the new PhotoPass+ may be added to your package or pre-purchased online at least two weeks prior and all of your attraction pictures and meal pictures are included. If you don't plan to do the PhotoPass+ there is no reason to arrive any earlier than the show starts. The doors open at the scheduled show time and your seats are pre-assigned.

Here is the link to the pre-arrival savings

http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx

You may want to get your tickets the day you arrive on site. The seats are assigned at ticket pick up, so the sooner you pick up, the better the seats. If you have your tickets from your resort there is no reason to arrive early at all. If you're picking up at the location you may want to allow time to possibly wait in line for tickets.

Don't forget there is internal transfers required to get from the front of Ft Wilderness back to the docks where the show is located.

Have fun! It is one of our favorites!!!

I've read that seating is assigned when you make your reservations. Can anyone confirm which is correct, when assigned or when you pick up your tickets? Thanks!

Neither lol
Technically seats are assigned based on when you made the reservations but they don't do that until a few days before. When you pick up your tickets has nothing to do with your seats only when you called to make the ADR!

Excellent info. Thanks.

We plan on preordering the Photopass, but probably not the Photopass Plus.

The link above is for the pre-order of the regular PhotoPass CD. Here's the link for PhotoPass+ http://www.disneyphotopass.com/specialoffers/wdwppp.htm (Not sure why, but Disney makes it so hard to find the link on the PP site)

The HDDR pictures are included if you have PP+, along with other character meals and ride photos. They would not be included on a regular PP CD, same for all other character meals except the 2 exceptions listed above where pictures are built into the meal price.
