Earning My Ears

Can I add a night's stay at the beginning of my stay?

Already paid in full and have my documents--can I add a night coming in the day before my original date? We have military rates with dining plan. Would like to NOT have dining plan for the first night, just the room. Is this too complicated?

Thanks!

You can try to make a room-only reservation for that one night and see if the discount is still available. You can ask them to link the 2 reservations -- they usually won't guarantee you won't have to switch rooms, but when you check in you can tell them that your package starts the next day. They'll keep you in the same room if they can. Hope this helps.

Yes, I've done this several times. Added a room only the day before my package starts. As suggested have to 2 res. linked as a continuing stay. I also remind them at check in. The next morning you have to go to the desk to go thru the formalities of checking out, and checking in, and getting new KTTW cards with your package on them. I also tell them again that I want to keep the room we're in. Unless you absolutely hate that room, then you could ask for a different one I guess

I've also done it right at the front desk after I've checked in. I've simply extended the stay. Of course, no discounts happen that way

Did this exact thing in 2011 and it all worked out just fine. The worst thing that happens is you have to change rooms but it's unlikely.
