Artist Point--worth 2 credits?
I'm looking for a more "adult" meal for my DH and me on our upcoming trip. DH loves steak and seafood, and I want to try someplace new. My brother/sister-in-law recommended Artist Point at WL...is it worth the two table service credits? Thanks!

At Artist Point, the most expensive entree is $43 and dessert is $11. That's $54. Add in a $4 drink and tax, and you're just over $60, falling pretty far short of the $70 "value" of the credit. If you order anything other than the most expensive dish, you lose even more. Now there is value other than monetary. Would your husband feel free to order the most expensive if you're paying OOP? Would you even eat here if not on the DDP? Lots of things to consider. |

Thanks for the breakdown. How is the food? Atmosphere? To us, the food/service is sometimes more important than the nickel and diming of the dining plan. My sister-in-law said it was more "adult" and "quieter", which is what we are looking for in our "fancier" night out at WDW.

We totally enjoyed our "fancy" night here. The service was excellent the food was excellent.
From a Dining Plan side (we paid cash) I have a problem with any of the restaurants charging 2 TS. With that said I felt it was worth every dollar we spent. With the DP which we have used in the past it is difficult to judge if you are looking for just menu value. To me some of the ones that are "a good value" based on menu pricing are just over priced that makes it a value. I would feel good using the DP to dine at Artist Point. The food was wonderful. The portabello soup, beet salad and artisanal cheeses were great starters (and worth paying on top of DP for). The entree's seemed were unique and not the norm that you see at some of the other restaurants. Of course Narcosses will give you the romantic night with the fireworks but we enjoyed the food and service at AP more. Before or after dinner the lounge at AP is a nice place for a quiet drink, or just on a night you aren't having dinner there. Last edited by gdrj; 03-10-2013 at 03:30 PM. |
