We have had the whole family join us on past trips and some arrived later and some left early. We just keep the whole trip all the same dates for eveyone becouse we still had the rooms. All I did was make sure all the dinning credits were used up. They really don't know if you have someone in the party leaving early and if they do it dosent matter. One person who left 2 days early even took the magical express. It should be just a matter of how much money you can save if you change the reservations.

Honestly, the change in cost of the tickets for WDW is negligible. You would maybe save $50, if that on her tickets. So, I guess the big question is would it be worth making all the changes to save $50-$100, and then on your last day or two after she has to leave the rest of the family can eat her dining credits.

Now, if she is not able to go, I would just explain the situation, and maybe WDW will remove her from your reservation, but allow you to keep everything else the same, for a minimal fee.

For each day its only around $10 so I wouldn't worry about the tickets.

PPs are right... just keep it all if she's going home a day or two early.
Lose the $20ish on her tickets and use her DDP credits. Or book a signature dinner or something while she's there and use them then. Doesn't really matter.

This happens fairly often, someone having to arrive later than the rest or leave earlier. We were on ME yesterday morning with a lady who was arguing with the driver that her husband, who was leaving today, should be allowed to escort her to and from the airport to catch her flight home. He couldn't, of course, but he had a voucher to go back to the airport today for his flight.

I've done it myself, had a trip booked about two years ago where my mom ended up going home four days early. I had some of her credits and mine left for the weekend (we'd used a couple for dinner earlier in the trip), and we gave up the 3 extra days on her ticket which at the time was a loss of about $16.

I was able to change my whole package inside of 14 days for the $50 change fee. We shifted our days by 2 on arrival and departure. We lost our preferred room and ended up staying in outer Siberia at CBR, plus we lost good seating at the luau - but our trip was saved, and I had as much as can be expected when traveling with one's STBXH.

It seems like if she has to leave early it won't be a problem though, just use her credits on CRT, schedule DME for her, and change her flight.

I hope you get lots of pixie dust and your trip works out!!!

You can't cancel her tickets or DDP. Those have to be the same for everyone registered on a package. But you can get tickets for everyone to match hers, and just upgrade the rest of the party to longer tickets. Or you can just eat the cost of her last day on the tickets. And the rest of the party can use her extra DDP credits.

I would just leave the package the way it is, and if she needs DME arrange an earlier pickup just for her. Depending on the airline, there will most likely be some kind of charge to change her flight.

So I just talked to my mom, and.................the lady who makes the decision isn't in the office today! Ack! It's going to be a looooooonnnngggggg day .

I REALLY appreciate everybody's advice though! Definitely helps to know that we won't be out too much money if she has to leave early. My one main concern about that now is just that my mom is 69, and has only flown once...with me to WDW in 2010. I can't imagine her navigating MCO by herself, and I'd be very worried about her doing that. I guess I'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I don't think I'd want to change my and the kids plane tickets to come back on Wednesday either, but we shall see. I'm still hoping they just give her the whole time!

I'm assuming she will be flying in with you so its not like she has never seen MCO or know how security works. She just has to do it in reverse.

Though I think you are already there, you just have to get past this little bump and realize not all is lost. It only looks that way right now.

I have a lot of respect for your mother that she is 69 and still working hard. It's unfortunate that at her age she still has to wait for someone to approve if she gets to take a vacation with her family.

Prayers that it all gets approved.

I know...I'm definitely trying to look on the bright side! And if she has to leave early, that's much better than her not being able to go at all! I just worry about my mom, you'd have to know her to understand, but she isn't the most worldly person. And I think the terminal train would scare her to figure out by herself. I would just make sure when we arrive that she pays close attention to it, instead of just following me around. We fly into Bradley so that would be a cinch, even for her.

FWIW, there's nowhere else to go, other than onto the subway/train/monorail. You get through security and that's all there is to do.

Aw! That's sweet...you just brought tears to my eyes. This is so true. I wish she could have retired a long time ago,,but it just wasn't in the cards for her. Her life has been far from easy, so if there is anyone who deserves this vacation, it's her ! Thanks for the prayers.
