We had the easiest debarkation from the Dream on Thursday....it was seemless.

We were doing the Onboard Airline Check in program where DCL will take your luggage from the hall the night before and you don't see it again until your home airport. You must meet some requirements like being booked on a participating airline, having your flight time fall within a certain time frame, be flying domestic and have either air or transfers booked with DCL. We had one way transfers booked from the port to MCO at $35 pp. We had rented a car and returned it before the cruise.

We have not been having breakfast in the MDR on the last morning for several cruises and did not this time either. We headed up to Cabanas at 7:20 and had our breakfast. We then went back to our cabin before 8:00 (you must be out of your cabin by 8) and picked up our carryon bags. We headed downstairs and literally just walked off with no line whatsoever. We were off the ship and on the bus to MCO by 7:55. Customs was a breeze with no line at all.

Other cruises when we left a bit later there were long line wating to disembark and long lines to get through customs. This time it was a piece of cake!!

If you are doing the Onboard Airline Check in program and your flight is before 1:00 pm you MUST be off the ship by 8:00 am. If your flight is after 1:00 pm you have to be off by 9:00 am. This was stated in the letter we got in our stateroom. Also, Cabanas is not listed as a dining option in the letter but is always open for last morning breakfast.

As far as sleeping in, they ask that you be out of the staterooms around 8.

It is sooo noisy!! the last morning. They are making announcements over the loud speakers, doors are slamming, people on the halls with their luggage banging around. Their is no sleeping in the last day. But think of it this way the people before you were up and out by 8am so you could get ON the ship. You will still have a great cruise.

Keep in mind that they have to get the entire ship ready for a whole new set of passengers, who will start boarding at around 11:30 am. True staterooms aren't open until 1:30, but that's A LOT of work to do and hanging about later in your stateroom only makes it harder for the staff to get done what they have to.

FWIW on Feb 10 it wasn't discreet at all. We were waiting until the last minute to leave, though we were in the main areas after having breakfast (not in our room). And if memory serves at about 8:59 they got *serious* on the PA system. Very very definite that it was time to GO.
