My favorite...
Alcohol by Barenaked Ladies Alcohol, my permanent accessory Alcohol, a party-time necessity Alchool, alternative to feeling like yourself O Alcohol, I still drink to your health I love you more than I did the week before I discovered alcohol Forget the caffe latte, screw the raspberry iced tea A Malibu and Coke for you, a G&T for me Alcohol, Your songs resolve like My life never will When someone else is picking up the bill I love you more than I did the week before I discovered alcohol O Alcohol, would you please forgive me? For while I cannot love myself I'll use something else I thought that Alcohol was just for those with Nothing else to do I thought that drinking just to get drunk Was a waste of precious booze But now I know that there's a time And there's a place where I can choose To walk the fine line between Self-control and self-abuse I love you more than I did the week before I discovered alcohol Would you please ignore that you Found me on the floor Trying on your camisole? O Alcohol, would you please forgive me? For while I cannot love myself I'll use something else. Would you please forgive me Would you please forgive me

It's been years since I've been to a party with a keg of beer (and all those were before I was 25), but I'm pretty sure I've never seen it kept in a bathtub, nor do I recall any red solo cups. But, I've definitely been to this "kind" of party
![]() Oh, and "Whiskey in the jar" is a Thin Lizzy song. Metallica's version is a remake

Its actually a very old, traditional Irish song that has been recorded by many artists from Burl Ives to the Grateful Dead.

Quote:
The song first gained wide exposure when the Irish folk band The Dubliners performed it internationally as a signature song, and recorded it on three albums in the 1960s. Thin Lizzy hit the Irish and British pop charts with the song in the early 1970s The American metal band Metallica brought it to a wider rock audience in 1998 by playing a version very similar to that of Thin Lizzy's, though with a heavier sound, winning a Grammy for the song in 2000 for Best Hard Rock Performance.

Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On - Neal McCoy
Awww Yah! Billy’s at the bar, he’s been there all night First ten beers he’s had, since her goodbye HEY! HEY! She left him broke, in his new truck He don’t smoke, but he lights one up Temporary fix, for his heartache He’s hurting bad, but he’s feeling great He’s on the dance floor yelling Freebird Singing off pitch but he knows every word Grabs him a girl and he holds on tight He’s chasing everything in sight He’ll fall apart when he gets home But right now his worries are gone Life looks good, good, good Billy’s got his beer goggles on Hey! Lot of drunks, get real mean They’ll pick a fight, over anything Billy wants to laugh, that’s why he’s here You won’t see him cry, unless you spill his beer He’s on the dance floor yelling Freebird Singing off pitch but he knows every word Grabs him another girl and he holds on tight Now he’s chasing everything in sight He’ll fall apart when he gets home Right now his worries are gone Life looks good, good, good Billy’s got his beer goggles……. on He’s on the dance floor yelling Freebird Singing off pitch but he knows every word Grabs him another girl he hold on tight He don’t see ugly Through blood shot eyes He’ll fall apart when he gets home But right now his worries are gone Cause life looks good, good, good So good, good, good, Life looks good, good, good Billy’s got his beer goggles…….on Get Up Billy.... Get Up...

My favorite ... we even played it at our wedding reception
.Scotch And Soda -- Kingston Trio Songwriters: Guard, Dave Scotch and soda, mud in your eye. Baby, do I feel high, oh, me, oh, my. Do I feel high. Dry martini, jigger of gin. Oh, what a spell you've got me in, oh, my. Do I feel high. People won't believe me. They'll think that I'm just braggin'. But I could feel the way I do and still be on the wagon. All I need is one of your smiles. Sunshine of your eyes, oh, me, oh, my. Do I feel high. People won't believe me. They'll think that I'm just braggin'. But I could feel the way I do and still be on the wagon. All I need is one of your smiles. Sunshine of your eyes, oh, me, oh, my. Do I feel higher than a kite can fly Give me lovin', baby. I feel high.

Four H and FFA on a field trip to the farm me and a friend sneak off behind This big ol' barn where we uncovered A covered up moonshine still and we thought we'd drink our fill And I swallered it with a smile brrr I run ten miles Chug-a-lug chug-a-lug... I knew Neal McCoy before he was famous. He dated my friend and we would all go to clubs together. He was a really nice, sweet, charming guy. She should have stuck with him.
![]() Red, Red Wine is not by UB40, although I love that version. It is a Neil Diamond song. He did a slow version. I once saw Neil Diamond start off singing RRW as his slow version, then morph it into UB40's version. It was fun. When I think of drinking and songs, I think of the perfect country and western song.........You Never Even Called Me By My Name and its famous lyrics, "Well, I was drunk the day my momma got out of prison and I went to pick her up in the rain. But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got runned over by a damned old train." I hate it when that happens............. . Quote:
