Beach Club Villa Vs. Baylake Towers
Hi everyone, I really need help deciding between BLT and BCV (Studio room)! It will just be my wife and I along with our 1 year old son staying for a 1 week stay this coming summer. I know BLT is newer and you can walk to MK and access to the monorail, but the pool at the beach club looks amazing espically for my son...he would love the lazy river and beach! My wife seems to think that BLT would be cleanist and brining the strooler on the monorail without having to fold it is certainly a bonus. Please help me choose!! thanks!

he is much to young for the big pool at SALB - now he can do the little one. this is at bc/yc - not bcv - so it can be a far walk - depends upon where you are at bcv.
besides you are going to be spending more time at the MK - right? the pool at BLT while not the greatest for adults - kids love it!

We are in a similar predicament for our trip next year, deciding between those two resorts. However, this October, we've opted for BLT because of the location. We went with our (then) 4mo DS in January and dealt with constantly folding up stroller while staying at AKV. After AKV, we stayed just 2 nights at BLT and were amazed how easy it was with the stroller on the monorail or simply just walking to MK. Much less stressful! We might try for BCV in 2014. By then DS will be almost 2 and can enjoy the pool more. Good luck!

While I agree that SAB can be difficult with young children, I think a one year old would be fine because you will be with them every minute anyway. Plus SAB has a very shallow, sandy-bottomed pool area that is great for little kids. I think I would choose resorts based on ease of travel to parks. If you will be at MK mostly, then I would do BLT. If you are spending equal time at Epcot and DHS, I would pick BC.

We stayed at BLT (1BR LV) in December 2012. The convenience of walking to MK from BLT is amazing! With a 10 month old and a 3.5 year old, it was so nice to put them in the stroller in the room and just walk straight into the park. The walk was less than 10 minutes.

We were having the same "problem" choosing between BLT or BCV. We are going in October, so BCV would keep us right in the middle of all the F&W action, yum!
The pool is beyond awesome, and the boat rides are super peaceful, I love it!! BLT, in the other hand,is a short walk away from the most magical place on earth, and having two kids, age 5 and 2, this is a HUGE plus. The decor is very appealing to my DH, and it's a monorail ride away from Epcot. We are also going to MNSSHP, so it's a nice thing not to have to fight the crowds once the party is finish. In the end, we chose BLT, and we are very excited!! I hope all my rambling helped you make a decision

I own at BCV and would not stay there if MK is my primary destination. The bus is shared with YC and is often SRO at BC. BLT is much more convenient for MK.
Also the lazy river at SAB is anything but lazy. It's deep with a strong current!!!! |

Hi I actually think SAB is easier with a 1 yr old. My son loves crawling in the sand bottom zero entry section which was large and full of other children to dig in the sand and play with! We have also stayed at BLT which is great for location but the studios are SMALL. My little guy was more interested in the pool than the parks so I would go with BCV. NOT TO MENTION THE ENDLESS DINING OPTIONS FOR MOM AND DAD IN THAT AREA
