Are me and DH crazy for going to Disney 12-29-13 through 1-6-14? I've been several times, but he's never been and I want him to experience everything we can! I don't mind going to Epcot NYE and it being crazy crowded, but I don't know how it is the whole time? Any tips or knowledge?

not a good time for someone who has never been.

it is super crowded the entire week. and I mean crowded - go find the pictures of last year time.

other holidays are better.

how about Sept, Jan or May - also the first part of Feb - that say MLK's week this year Disney closed the MK I think for 2 of the 7 days. don't think they ever closed in it Feb.

Spring break - great time to go - but it is also very crowded. think at spring WDW is the most lovely - everything is blossoming. just beautiful.

I totally agree with Spiceycat, can't imagine a worse time for a first time visitor. With NYE in the middle of the week again, and a number of Latin American tourists who vacation until Three Kings Day, you'll be looking at Christmas week crowds the whole trip. Parks closing for capacity, 2-3 hour lines, etc.

Im a disney vet, i go at least once a year. This year i was there from dec 22 to jan 1st. We went knowing it was going to be insane. If you go with a plan and get there for rope drop and use fast passes its doable

Ah. Well. The dates have to stay due his brother getting married the 5th at WDW! We're going early to honeymoon since we didn't get to after our wedding this October due to me being graduate school. I'm planning really good! So hopefully that helps. Been watching crowd calendars to see where to go each day! This just means we will have to plan another trip soon after! Perfect excuse to do so
