No more land & sea packages?

In 2008, my hubby and I did WDW and the Disney Cruise for our honeymoon... we booked one package that contained everything and had all of our transfers.
I'm noticing they no longer do those?

Have any of you guys booked a WDW/DCL vacation? How do you set up transfers?

ALSO! Has anyone done the Bahamas in late November/Early December? how's the weather??
Thanks!

No, DCL no longer offers land/sea packages, however, you can still plan WDW/DCL trips. Actually it was cheaper booking WDW on your own rather than through DCL anyway.

Just add DCL transfers to your DCL reservation after you make your WDW reservations and you can still get transport for you and your luggage to the port.

I have booked my upcoming trip (week on the Fantasy and week at CBR, complete with transfers tickets and free dining) as a package. But then we are in the UK and booked it through Walt Disney Travel Company. Perhaps it is different over here.

They were worth booking only for the "convenience" of booking everything at one time. You could not apply resort discounts including free dining to them, so you could often do better booking everything separately.

UK reservations are different.

Book your transfers directly through DCL and you will be informed where to wait for the DCL representative at your resort to check in for the bus pickup.

Now that you can book the 2 parts separately, you have way more flexibility. And like PP said, if there is a deal for WDW, you can now book with that code and get the deal, when you did Land & Sea, you could not.

You can book on your own and add the transfers, or use a TA that can book it all for you easily. There are several TAs recommended on the board that offer OBC (On board Credit) and sometimes other gifts. I am a fan of and use Dreams Unlimited (sponsor of this board) at www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com, and my TA is Beth Czada, she is great!

As for the Bahamas that time of year, I have done a 3 night cruise the first week of December and a Western 7 night the last week of November. We had a great time on both trips, but the weather was not fantastic. On the 3 night, every day was cloudy/windy and the water was very chilly at CC. On the 7 night we also had mostly cloudy/windy days, but we did have one day of full sun (Grand Cayman). But like I said, we had a great time anyway...but this past fall we did a 7 night in September and the weather was MUCH better. We took a chance during hurricane season, but it was well worth it.

Whatever you decide, enjoy!
