My husband, son and myself all dressed up in pirate costumes. We are going on our third Disney cruise in May and couldn't imagine NOT dressing up. I felt there were more passengers in pirate gear than not. You may feel a little out of place not dressed in some sort of pirate gear. Just have fun with it !

My first disney cruise there was 17 of us and we all dressed up from head to toe. This last cruise my oldest still wanted to dress up but my two younger ones only wanted to wear Jake and the neverland pirate shirts with the mickey pirate banadanas. I was fine with that too. There was an equal amount of people dressed up and /not dressed up so do whatever you feel comfortable with =)

Oooh, thanks for all the ideas! We might go the pirate tee route this time, but I love seeing everyone's costumes!

I plan on wearing my Pittsburgh Pirates jersey and bandana. My 6-year old is dressing up as the Parrot. Too funny

Since this was our first cruise last year, we didn't know what to expect. We wore t-shirts that we purchased from when they had a 25% off sale. Bought the hats at Hobby Lobby and the eye patches at Party City. We bought the boys the hooks and swords at the gift shop onboard. Next time we want to do more. Our table mates went all out. It was so much fun!

Our kids were the ones that dressed up for the most part. We only wore pirate t-shirts & the bandanas that were given to us. We had way too much to pack. We spent Halloween on the Fantasy & attended MNSSHP the week before. So we had to pack 2 weeks worth of clothing plus pirate gear plus Halloween costumes plus formal & semi-formal clothing. I say... do whatever makes you smile.

Here is a picture of us at dinner:

Our boys LOVE pirates! Here is a little video of our pirate themed vacation:

We did the full costumes on our first cruise, which was fun. We were in St. Maartin during the day, and were still at port, so when I came out in my Jack Sparrow costume, people from the RCCL ship docked next to us were yelling from across the way. I also had a few kids come up to me asking to take pictures. I also learned that women really like pirates...

But it got pretty hot in the costume, and that was in April, so on our last one in August, we just did the t-shirts, and were a lot more comfortable.
