DDP with a 2 year old with food allergy (milk protein allergy)

How does this work? Since she's under 3, she isn't really included in the dining plan. I don't eat milk products either, since she can't eat them, so feasibly I could just plan on her eating what I eat - but would I say "well she's allergic to milk & she'll be sharing my food"?

Would I need to call our ADR restaraunts in advance?

Anyone been there and have advice? I appreciate any tips!

When you make your ADRs, just put a note on the reservation that there is a milk protein allergy. When you check in at the restaurant let the person at the podium and/or your server know this too. They will have a chef discuss your needs and what is appropriate on the menu or in the buffet. If necessary they can even prepare something else in the kitchen. If you want something other than from your plate for your child, then they will prepare this for you as well (except that you would be charged for this).

At CS restaurants, you can speak with a CM about your needs and you can ask for the Ingredient Book which each one will have. It will list the ingredients in each item on the menu, so you can check for items safe for you and your child. Be aware that because of their limited menus, there may not be a lot of substituting that they can do.

Thank you! I did click on "milk" on the dietary restrictions when I made the ADRs. I just didn't know if some restaraunts really have no other options & we'd be stuck. We made res's at Chef Mickeys, CRT, Ohana, Akershus, Tusker House, and Garden Grill.

I would suggest going to the disABILITIES Forum and look at Post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs. There is a large section in that post dealing with special dietary needs, as well as many related links. You can get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs by following the link in my signature.

This is a very common topic of discussion in the disABILITIES Forum.

I just wanted to say hi!! We're in almost EXACTLY the same boat, except DD is MSPI - so no soy for us either. I feel your pain in trying to figure out how to feed the LO!!! I'm curious too how to handle the situation... I may wean her before our trip in October, so that might allow me to eat, but even if I do, I just don't know what she'll eat, and I'm nervous about her diapers while being out and about if she "cheats!" If you find out any really useful info, I'd be super appreciative if you'd post it or passed it along!!!!
