BTW...has anyone taken the Vatica-led tour of the museum and chapel? It's only 2 hours long and this is the only time that works with our hectic schedule.

All the small group private tours take too long and we don't need a group specific private tour since honestly, we won't have any art questions.

My daughter is watching me type and she'd like me to insert this princess icon for no good reason.
It's Monaco, Monte Carlo, and Eze. And tell your daughter that there doesn't have to be a reason to put in

Thanks! That was the tour we were looking at. Just wasn't sure if there was a different one. And lol on the princess thing.

That's right! Any time is a great time to post a princess.

I like this guy myself:

Hehe. I'm partial to this icon It describes how I feel planning excursions for this trip. It was a lot easier traveling to Europe w/my husband "back in the day" without any real plans.

I don't know if anyone is doing London prior to the cruise, but we just got our free Ceremony of the Keys tickets mailed back from England. It's a 30 minute closing ceremony for the Tower of London...and it's pretty cool. I think boys will enjoy it (it's creepy). I highly recommend it. Dates are filling up for summer already so if anyone wants tickets, I'd write to request them now.

We did the reverse way on our Med in 2010 and meals were included in Eze.

It's 11 a.m. However, when you arrive do not expect any welcoming partying like the ones in the US ports.

When we traveled in August 2010 for the Med Cruise, we wanted to show up early and it was very non-eventful.

We did the pre-registration for the kids wrist bands and pagers there.

Then, took our pictures and that was it.

So, we were onboard without the fan fare.

They did mention our name as we entered the cruise ship.

Lots of fun.

Does anyone know how much earlier than your reserved ticket time for the Vatican Museum & Colosseum do you have to show up?

So say, res at 10:00 a.m., pick up tickets at 9:50 a.m.? Or earlier? Or right at 10?

Also, if you stay in the Disney designated hotels, they will check you in at the hotel a day before and give your kttw card. Once in port, you can go ahead and board once allowed. I'm not sure if that will be the same this year but that's what we did in 2010.

Did you do Disney air as well, or just the hotel?

We have had that experience in Barcelona in 2007, in London in 2010, and in Vancouver in 2011. It makes it nice to get that administrative stuff out of the way.

I asked this in a new thread, but in case anyone is subscribed to this thread here is my question:

Did DCL allow all passengers to wait in line to disembark at the listed "Onshore" time (assuming the ship was cleared to disembark passengers), or were DCL excursion people given priority and private tour people somehow "held back."

SPECIFICALLY--FOR ROME---I have an early morning tour scheduled at 9:40 a.m. @ the Colosseum, and our Onshore time is 7:30 a.m. at Civitavecchia. Can I expect to get off the ship by 7:45 a.m.? Need to schedule our van pick-up. I already bought the nonrefundable tix so I can't change my tour time now.

I remember cruising Alaska and at Victoria, DCL excursion people were held in Studio Sea waiting to disembark as a group (frustrating, btw) while others disembarked.

I didn't know if Disney did Med cruises differently, allowing certain passengers to disembark first. I read in another thread that DCL excursion passengers get priority tendering--but what about just regular disembarking (ie walking off the ship at the port).

Thanks!

We did the med in 2007 & Baltic in 2010. DCL does not hold up other guests for their tours. Once the ship is cleared any guests can disembark?
