Rain forest cafe.. - The DIS Discussion Forums

What do you think of this place? We really just want to see inside.. I heard there is a gift shop. Would we spend 100$ out of pocket to eat there? Or 30$ for Earl of Sandwitch? Lol help.

personally i think the food is overpriced and not the greatest quality, if you just want to check it out you can go into the gift shop which is connected in the front, or walk by the giant fish tanks they have to see the inside. You can even sit at the bar and prob order some food there too. It is VERY loud inside, the atmosphere is cool but it's a little too chaotic of a dining experience for us, Earl of Sandwich is very good and Wolfgang Puck Express is our favorite!

We've been there a couple of times because the kids liked the decor and theme: Thunderstorm, animals move, etc. The food is okay. Nothing spectacular. Reasonably priced.

Just walk around... Go to the gift shop. I agree the food is not that good... Very overpriced..and heavy. Go geta. Sandwich at eos !!!!!

Very overpriced.....Are we serious? Have we all forgotten to see the prices at all the other WDW Restaurants? It's in the general ballpark, & on the contrary: I think the food is rather unique w/ some of the things that they offer..

We've eaten at both locations: I personally think the service was a lil better/faster at the AK location, but both were tasty, that's for sure. If you're not comfortable with that u may want to try T REX......Earl of sandwich is very good but, it's not the same...

Plus RC is a chain and the one at dtd is no better than any of the others. Go to T-Rex. Same company, same food, but theme is much better

Food is good, not great. Very loud, and I've had nothing but slow service. I've been there about 4 times and have never left in under an hour and a half. That's just an entree', no appies or desert. The prices are about the same as the rest of Disney, expensive.

It is loud and yes the prices aren't cheap but what table service really is at WDW?

My youngest was a little scared during the thunderstorms but she still had a great time

I think it's worth it!

We went to the one at Animal Kingdom and the food was awesome and my kids loved it (7 year old and 4 year old twins). I heard that the one at Downtown Disney isn't nearly as good as the one at Animal Kingdom.

We did the one at AK 3 weeks ago and it was by far the worst meal of our trip. Typical bar food that you can get at any TGIFridays and super overpriced even for Disney standards. Just not worth it to us.

We ate at the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney yesterday and it was one of my least favorite meals ever. The restaurant was incredibly crowded, extremely loud (even when the animals weren't doing their thing!) and the food wasn't that great. The service was super slow and after waiting for over 20 minutes for dessert to arrive, we just left without it.

I think it's worth it!

We eat there every time we go to Disney. We even purchased the club card.

We eat the burgers and fries. We think it's a better option than some of the other restaurants. The food isn't theme park food and the price is same across the board at all of their restaurants.

Hello -IMO - If you have a Rain Forrest Cafe in your City, I would visit it instead of going to the one at DTD or Animal Kingdom.

Try Mickey's Back Yard BBQ. DD and I really enjoyed it.. Sorry in advance if I offended anyone.
