I understand what everyone is saying and I feel the same way, to an extent. We are not traveling with friends we are traveling with one person, my mother. I don't see the harm in bringing back a bagel or coffee for her to the room. No one who's posted on this thread would do that?
Ah well, I'll either make her go eat by herself somewhere or grace her with our leftovers that would otherwise be trashed.

OP,

Your mom would be what is called a "Day Guest" in the CL. You should call IPO and find out what their policy is for Day Guests (that is their term). Depending on the time of year (busy/slow)... they will let you know if it is okay. That way you are being up-front about it and don't have to worry about breaking any rules.

Have a great time... you will love the Kilamanjaro CL!

Not to be mean but if every CL guests brought "just one more person" those of us staying CL would be paying even higher rates. I would NOT do it. If it's that much of a problem and my mom couldn't upgrade to CL I would probably downgrade to a regular room and spend the extra money on ts breakfasts with my mom.

I haven't posted, but, nope I wouldn't do that. I feel it's the same as if you go to a buffet restaurant and take food outside to someone. I have never seen a doggie bag at a buffet restaurant either. I am really sorry if this isn't the answer you were looking for, and truly hope you have a wonderful Disney vacation.

I agree 100% with DisneyMomx7. We would not do it and would either downgrade as she suggested or spend the extra money somewhere else to snack with the other person/s we are traveling with.

That being said, my mother has decided to join us on our trip, but I believe she's just getting a standard AKL room. Is it OK if she joins us in the club? I don't want to be shady about it, and know she's not paying the premium, but if I bring her along for a bowl of cereal, is anyone going to say anything?

Thanks.
Why not be the hero to your mom and pay to upgrade her reservation to CL, too?

Obviously you can't have someone not CL come to the lounge to take full advantage of perks not paid for.

But, if you want to bring coffee or bagels back to your room, it's your business who gets to eat or drink them.

Nobody is being mean, and my feelings aren't hurt and I posted this question to hear everyone's views. No one should feel as if they're offending, everyone has their own values. For me, I wouldn't really care if someone else was doing it, so it's really not a big deal for me. She'll only be with us for 4 days out of our 8 day trip and we prob would only utilize the lounge 1 or 2 times during that 4day period. Who knows maybe she'll spring for the club level? I was just simply wondering. I guess you guys are way more honest than me! HA!

It would be cheaper to just add her to the reservation for 25 plus tax a night, than to upgrade your mom to cl. Cl runs a lot more than that a night. BC you have a 1 year old you are OK occupancy wise adding your mom for the time she is with you.

If you are only using CL for breakfast, then all of you are not getting the full beneift of the lounge. If you are also enjoying the appetizers and daily adult beverages- then she could easily get $25 of value per day out of the lounge. If it would just be a bgel, then she'd be better off getting one at the Mara (than paying $25plus tax per day), and joining you in your room.

I agree . We stay cl all the time, but not just to have breakfast. It is not worth it just for a few dollar bagel.

WE will be using it for whenever during our 8 days, so worth it for us (beers and apps, WOOT WOOT) and the kids (milk and snacks). But when my ma is with us those 4 days, it would probably just be for a quick am bite, as we'll be at the parks most of the day. The club level was $6 more/night than an Arusha bunk, but it's HUGE difference from standard to Club. She literally eats like a bird, so a club level upgrade for her is not worth it. It would only be worth it to be on the same floor as us and so that she would have a view. The $25/day too could prob not be justified as well. I will call OP to see what they say about a guest pass, or just quickly grab some food as other club members glare, and walk it down the hall of shame, to my room.
