The flakes are TINY but grass is almost fully covered so far. We are out of school today since afternoon is supposed to be bad. If we get the expected totals, we will probably be out of school tomorrow too. Enjoying a possible long weekend!

Just starting to get a dusting in SW Iowa on our way to 10 inches? School was let out at 11:30 so I went home too and here it is almost 3 and still okay driving conditions. Oh well. It's my busy time at work, but since they've talked up this storm so much, I think I'll be disappointed if we don't get our 10 inches!

Just coming out of a lull where nothing was happening for about half an hour. Starting up again. DW says the power is out at home

3-6 inches expected in the Twin Cities, with another storm on Monday. Starting later tonight, through tomorrow night. Of course I have a 45 mile drive each way, tomorrow evening.

Between being without power with ice storms and hurricanes, having a generator is the *best* insurance we've ever had
Have our home wired to just flip a switch, then plug the generator in and have set number of lights, outlets, etc. Also powers our fridge, freezer, and well. We've been without power so many times that we got tired of losing all our refrigerated stuff, and not having water. Now, at least we don't have those issues to worry about. |

Ugh. Hate to hear that. Generators are so expensive. We keep saying we need to buy one but they seem to never go on sale.

In-laws live in KCK and they have already gotten 10" of snow today. That seems so crazy for me as we are in shorts down here. Stay safe and warm, everyone.

South part of metro kansas city, on kansas side.
12 inches so far. Got an automated call from the city telling everyone to stay home and off the streets unless an emergency. Me, I am staying in where it is warm! DH got stuck coming home from work about 1 mile from home and took him 4 hours to get out. Ended up parking car in parking lot of grocery store and getting a ride home as our car wouldn't not clear the snow on the street where we live. Still not plowed. I had to shovel a path for our dachshund to be able to go to the bathroom.

Well it's here. Sleet for about 5 minutes, and now snow is falling at a pretty good rate. The roads are covered, and since I have to go to work at 6, I'm hoping they pre-treated.
