Concierge Staterooms
I have a question for anyone who has stayed in a Concierge room. We booked a Concierge suite for my family on the Dream. My DD is getting married on the cruise and we wanted the extra room for her, the bridesmaids and mothers/grandmothers to get ready and take pictures while getting ready. We only have one concierge room and the rest of the wedding party have regular balcony rooms. I called DCL to ask if they had a larger suite that would sleep more people (similar to the 2 bedroom on the Wonder) and she said they didn't. I explained I was just trying to see if there was an even larger room because we would all be getting ready at once. She then said that absolutely no one would be allowed in our room unless they would also be staying Concierge. So because the groom's mom and my mom (grandma) is not staying Concierge because they can't afford it, they wouldn't be allowed in our room while our daughter was getting dressed. We had also wanted to do a small bridal shower in the room as well for the females in our group. Is this true? There is no way we would be able to all get ready or have a bridal shower in one of the regular rooms, they are too small. I completely understand not being able to access the lounge or any other concierge perks but just entering our room is not a perk.

You were told wrong. There is no problem with them being in your room.

They might need to be escorted, because there is a gate at the hallway entering the concierge area. But they will be allowed as your guests. I've heard varying reports as to whether or not the gate is closed/locked at all times.
Enjoy your cruise! |

Disney doesn't care who is in what room. And often the gates are open if it is a planned getting ready session it should not be a problem for someone to just go open the gate. The only places that non concierge guests are not allowed are the "public" areas like the sun deck or the lounge. Also did you look into the royal suite? You can get 12000 which is the 1 bedroom that connects to the royals. If you have those it is like having the 2 bedroom. The royals on the new ships definately have a better verandah also.

I had my 5 relatives in our 00V room for a couple hours. And that's not a big room, LOL, same size as the lower category we had booked, just behind the concierge gates.
The concierge person, when she learned we had relatives staying in another area on the ship, told me specifically what they can and cannot do. Visiting the stateroom is a can do. Going to the lounge or sun deck is a can't do.

If you are in a category T 1BR suite on the Dream, there should be plenty of room for everyone to get ready at the same time. Even two full bathrooms. Big mirror, all that good stuff. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to 12000, and that room was pretty sweet! (pun intended)
