Money in Cozumel - The DIS Discussion Forums

Help! My memory is failing me. We have been to Cozumel on a past cruise and I know that we did a bit of shopping in the city. However, I don't remember using pesos and I wasn't sure if some of the merchants accepted U.S. dollars.

I've only used US dollars in Cozumel. There may be places that only take pesos, but I've never been to one.

everywhere we went in cozumel took us dollars without issue, as a matter of fact pretty much every where had 2 prices listed, pesos and usd.

i would also suggest taking a lot of smaller bills so there are no issues with change.

Agree, that taking smaller bills if you want to bargain with vendors is a good idea. We've always given exact change.

Been to Cozumel many times and have always used US currency.
