What are your Disneyland "traditions"?

1. Always go to Great Moments with Mr Lincoln first at Disneyland.

2. Always eat at Blue Bayou once every visit.

3. Always take a picture in front of the partners statue.

4. Since California Adventure opened we always ride Soarin first when we enter that park.

5. Always ride Pirates of the Caribbean on the last night there as our last ride.

6. Always eat a churro.

Hmm...

1.) First ride, Space Mountain, front seat.
2.) Last ride, Peter Pan, getting in line one minute before park closes.
3.) Monte Cristo at Blue Bayou at least once.
4.) Fantasmic! at least one.
5.) Every dark ride in Fantasyland at least one.
6.) Monorail ride in front or rear nose cone, at least once.
7a.) As many churros as I can eat and remain living.
7b.) If over holidays, accompanying churros with as much hot chocolate as I can drink and remain living.
8.) Goat trick on Big Thunder. (I'll miss you in March, old friend.)
9.) Taking *every* opportunity to relax and breathe in the scent of all the pine trees. (That smell absolutely means, "Disneyland" to me.)
10.) Pirates. Pirates. Pirates.
11.) Saying "Good-bye" to the park on my last day's exit.

1. If starting at DLR, grab fastpasses for and then immediately ride Space Mountain first thing. Every time.

2. Eat as many churros as our stomachs and wallet will allow.

3. Count the people from Utah. We're from Utah, and we like to see how many we can guess are from there as well.

4. Count the number of "interesting" children's names we hear throughout the trip. Last time our favorite was a little boy named Sparrow!

5. Dole Whips, of course. And Caramel, Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows, but not the orange Tigger Tail ones.

6. Buy an ornament to commemorate the trip.

7. Pick of different series of pins to look for and pintrade on that trip.

I love all of our Disney traditions, even if some are a little..weird?

In no particular order:

• Ride the Disneyland RR once all the way around the park in one sitting
• Dole Pineapple dessert at the Tiki Room
• Have a Mickey pretzel
• Stare at the goat while on BTMRR - try it as you bank the corner, makes you dizzy
• Walk through the entrance of Sleeping Beauty's castle like Walt did in the historic photo (my all time favorite Walt photo btw): http://www.ultimateorlando.com/archi...bs/SBCwalt.jpg
• Dinner at Blue Bayou once per trip
• Ride POTC at least 3 times per trip
• Walk through the Emporium gift shop from end to end
• Watch Fantasmic
• Stay until midnight and walk down Main Street (assuming midnight closing time)

We visit each year in August so one of our favorite traditions is to take a midday break in the Tiki Room garden and enjoy a leisurely snack of Dole Whip and pineapple spears. The garden is wonderfully themed, has shaded seating, and of course the Dole Whip is a special cooling treat. We are in no hurry (as this is usually a last stop before heading back to the hotel for the sacred midday break), and so we listen to the tiki pre-show a couple of times through. My kids know it by heart and diagnose Pele with various mood disorders when she declares, "I'm the one whose really sad. When I smile it comes out mad!" We finish off of course by going into the Tiki Room an singing like the birdies sing.

2. Eat at the Plaza Inn
3. Eat a dole whip / float while waiting for the Tiki room show to start.
4. Go on Splash mountain both in the day & night

*On day one, first place we go is Indiana Jones.

*Always eat at the Golden Horseshoe ad enjoy Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at least once.

*Mickey ice cream sandwhiches

*Big Thunder Mountain at night

I always take a pic of the kid on the stairs in the Court of Angels
When we arrive mid day, we start with a Corn dog for lunch.
The kid and I always take a ride in a purple teacup.
Saturday breakfast is always Carnation Cafe. Well, it was. That may change now that they've changed the menu.
I also always send postcards to a select group of people.

We always eat at the Blue Bayou our first day. We usually do three days there. The middle day, we spend much of the day at the pool and in downtown disney. We always stay onsite, so that makes things much easier.

The Grand Circle Tour on the Disneyland RR.
Lunch at BB.

Those three things are almost always guaranteed when I go to Disneyland with my family.

We always go to Disneyland first, walk through the right-hand side tunnel. Although that second part is more habit than tradition.

We have many a churro break throughout the day - my parents found that we tend to get crabby when we're hungry, so churros allow us to open and close the park.

This tradition has since been retired now that my brothers and I are grown, but it used to be that every time we'd go to Disneyland, we would stay in the Disneyland Hotel and get a visit from the Disney Fairy. On the last night of the stay, the Disney Fairy would visit us while we were sleeping and leave under our pillow a souvenir that we had picked out/had our eye on earlier that trip.

Once, after I was fully aware that my parents played the role of the Disney Fairy, my dad promised to get the Disney Fairy to get me the Disneyland Barbie if I rode on Indiana Jones with him (I was finally tall enough, and he didn't like riding alone). I agreed, only to absolutely HATE it - I remember being extremely mad at my dad for looking into the eyes because I was sure he was going to die. But I got the Disneyland Barbie, so I was okay in the end. Did take another few years for me to ride it again, and to this day I don't look into the eyes, haha.

I guess we are a non-traditional tradition family! After multiple trips (as a kid, couple and now mom..) we choose to do something that we haven't done before. Every trip there has to be something new, this way we keep DL fresh and there's always the excitement of the unknown in every trip.

Granted, this is easier at WDW, where I could live a lifetime and never do it all...but we find this easier than you might think at DL as well. Even with multiple trips per year, there is always something new to experience. Whether it's a new restaurant to try, ride, show or parade to experience, or new hotel, guided tour, etc...

For our trip in December, our new-to-us things were - Ralph Brennan's (fantastic), saw the Holiday Parade (also great!) and stayed at the Anaheim Hilton (a very nice surprise!)

For my daughter's birthday weekend (March 2nd/3rd) we are trying Trader Sam's for cocktails, Ariel's Grotto for breakfast, the Fantasmic Dessert Seating and the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour.

Anytime we feel like we are missing out on an old favorite we tell ourselves - we can always come back!

Visiting 1st aid used to be a main tradition! Don't ask! Lol!

Our most fav is to get your hand stamped on the way out your last day so you always feel like your going back!

My auntie and uncle take us to Napa Rose for Christmas.

We also never miss blue bayou story tellers and dole whips and mickey bars.

I am always trying to get that perfect photo from the back of the castle.

Our DL tradition is to go to Disneyland. Other than that, we take it as it comes every trip!
