I agree with Disney and Disboard rules as they are objective and clearly stated for all who participate, common decency and good manners however is very subjective and there is no need IMO to ream other people's views whether you agree or not. I don't particularly care when people start statements out with "Not to be rude BUT. . ." 9 times out of 10 they are about to say something rude and that little precursor statement does not make the rude statement following it ok.

Yes! I have recently waded through about 400 pages of a resort thread for info on THE RESORT, only to find out 399 pages later whose DH is sick this week, and what kind of weather you're having in XYZ state/country. Really, isn't there a message feature on the board for personal stuff? Frustrating to those of us who are trying to do our own research and avoid making annoying posts.

This is one of my pet peeves. The "don't judge" bit. You're not supposed to judge if you don't want to be judged yourself. Example, don't get on someone for being an alcoholic if you're one yourself. Don't get on someone for infidelity if you're screwing around on your own spouse. Etc. Etc.

Just thought of another. When someone wants a location near the elevator or not too far to walk in the hotel/resort because someone in their party can't walk very far. But that same person who can't walk very far is going to the theme park.

What are they going to do once they go through the ticket gate? Sit on a bench for the entire day?

Um, not always. Sometimes people have valid gripes and they should be able to air them without having to be told to make citrus drinks.

I often post thread links if I know of a good recent one with valid discussion. I figure the person will have a lot of instant feedback.

While I don't actually point out grammar mistakes, it is a huge pet peeve of mine. I sometimes think that the general population is unaware of "you're". You almost always see "your" in its place. That really bugs me.

True story, someone recently asked, if a particular upgrade was worth it, and I responded, and then got jumped on for providing the very judgment the OP had asked for ...

People telling me, "you shouldn't judge the way I spend my money" and "I can't believe that people would be so judgmental."

yea seriously this is a little ignorant, and I mean that in its true definition, not as a flaming insult, so please don't take it that way. You just aren't informed or aware of other people's situations.

We took my mother with us to disney, she has cancer, and is in long term treatment for it. She can not walk very far, stairs are a huge tax on her. We wanted to get her to disney. We rented an electric scooter thing, she had the time of her life.

Many people have mobility issues, for many reasons.

If it bothers you about someone making a request for being close to an elevator to avoid a long walk, is it also your pet peeve about people who always comment about the "horrendous self parking at the Boardwalk" due to the far walk to the lobby?

What's wrong with wanting a location near an elevator? Why would anyone care where someone else wants a room? The idea is to discuss resorts and that may be a concern or at least preference someone has.

I call it Cindy's. I also tell my son its my castle and Cindy stole it from me. Got a great laugh when he told Cinderella that. She didn't know what to say. Had us all laughing so hard. Its a great family tradition at our yearly Disney trip. Its something my son will always remember. That makes it special.

So people chill out. The anger on these boards is terrible. Especially because we are talking about the most wonderful place in the world. Yep. I believe in pixie dust and the power of this magical mouse. I wish people who don't would stop trying to ruin it for those of us who do.

If we tried to alleviate all pet peeves, we should stop posts asking for opinions or info on resorts, weather, attractions, restaurants, room locations, special events, stop chattering in resort info threads and just archive everything and turn the board read only. Did I get that about right?

I don't believe this thread was started to ruin Pixie dust Power (not that your saying it is, love that statement by the way). I truly believe it was just for a little comedic relief, nothing too serious, even if now some comments do seem a little more serious.

You mean trying to find a way to win for losing?Nope, there would be people emailing their peeves about how difficult it is to correct bad info and why was this post archived and not that one. . .
