does anyone know since these 2 airlines are going through a merger can i use a GC on southwest for our airtran flight
my DH likes airtran more since we can usually upgrade to businsess class very cheap

GC I'm guessing would be gift card.

OP. Since Airtran doesn't fly in/out of our airport, I don't have a definitive answer. From what I can tell by reading the terms and conditions, it looks like the immediate answer is no. Southwest Gift Cards can only be redeemed for Southwest flights.

From Southwest Airlines T & C: A southwestgiftcard can only be used for Passenger travel on Southwest Airlines, excluding Southwest Airlines Group Tickets.

SWA is finally starting to offer connecting flights on AirTran. So go to the SWA website and if one leg is on SWA you should be able to use your gift card.
