magic kingdom at full capacity?
I was looking ahead to some of the crowd prediction calendars and MK is supposed to be crowded on the days we are there, June 30-July 1. I read that you should get there early and not go back to your room for a rest because the park could be full and you could be turned away. Is this true? I've never heard of this before. Thanks, Marsha

I'm not sure about being turned away but resort guests are the very last people to be turned away from a park. So there really isn't a lot of risk in taking a mid-day break.
JMO of course but we were able to enter MK on NYE even though the park was closed to capacity.

MK does close to capacity. I don't see that happening on the 30th or the 1st. You're more likely to run into that issue on July 3rd or 4th, and during the week between Christmas and New Years (specifically Christmas Day and New Years Eve)

Yeah, I've been on the 30th of June before and had no issues getting in, and that was not staying on property. The 3rd and 4th most likely will close to capacity though.

I would not be that worried about either.
Last year, I arrived on the 1st (the Sun before the 4th) and the MK was unusually (for even a non peak fall day) quiet that evening. At 9:30p we got into a 20 minute PP line (never saw it that short in the fall) and boarded 12 minutes later

How about Presidents' Day? I'm going to be there that weekend this year, and want to prepare myself for the crowds.

Thanks! First time going with a 14-month-old, and I know I need to be flexible with schedules.

I was just in MK this weekend and it DID capacity close on Saturday and was projected to do so again today due to filming Live with Kelly and Michael. All parks were incredibly busy and we have gone at this time several years. Very unlike what we had experienced before. New Fantasyland is doing it's job, I guess. I'd be prepared for big crowds all summer.

Agreed! We rope dropped today at MK and did PP, Pooh, Ariel, Buzz, HM, and Pirates by 10:30 and then booked out of there! On way out, lines were backed up to bus entrance...I have never seen anything like it! It was unbelievable! We hopped to EPCOT and hung out in countries until 4:00...not too bad back there.

Would WDW parks really turn away their own resort guests?
I've never been at that most crowded times of year, but I always assumed that people staying on site would always be allowed access. I thought they would shut to outside guests long before real capacity to ensure their own guests access. I just made that up in my head, never read it anywhere. It was always just an assumption. Was I wrong? |
