We had a wonderful time, but did have our moments!

Pretty much down to my hips on one side, but nice and perky on the other

Gotta love the middle school years

My daughter turns 13 tomorrow, so we're in the middle of her birthday party.

She and 8 of her closest friends (along with her kid sister) are sitting at the dining room table, having just finished their pizza. They've been in total hysterics for almost 2 hours, telling "Your mom is so....." jokes. When I reminded them that I was in the next room, I thought they would die laughing.

These are the days I'll cherish.

My step-mom started calling my Sybil about that age too!

I'm sure I have calmed down a bit, but the name kind of stuck

I have fond and not so found memories of that time.

About age 13, DS and his buddies for his birthday sleepover, he decided to give one of them an obscene hand gesture......and he wondered why his friends were all horrified.......he didn't notice I was right behind him.

DD, well, she had the Cybil syndrome for about a year at starting at that age. Not sure what changed, but she did a 180 and decided mom and dad weren't so bad at about age 14. She accepted that we weren't going to let her do everything she wanted to do (like go to a concert on a school night) but she discovered that we would drop everything if there was something that she really needed to have or do.

Your momma's so dumb; she works at the M & M factory and throws out all of the "W"'s.

My son will be 13 on Monday. We had his party yesterday.
There were about 5 girls and 4 boys that showed up. Two of the boys were awful! Like two year olds, throwing things, running, picking on my younger son and his friend. I had to get on them several times.

My son had a great time. His close friends -all girls are a good group of kids. I sort of think he invited those rowdy boys because I asked him if there were more boys he wanted to invite. I didn't know if girls would show up to a boy's party.

Sometimes his scatterbrain and smart mouth drive me nuts, but for the most part, he's a great kid and turning into a great teen. Still can't believe it's been 13 years though!!

I hope your daughter has a great party and birthday!
