Flights out of IAH

For those who have sailed out of Galveston, what time did your return flight leave IAH? I mistakenly booked my flight for 11:55 am based on my experience from sailing out of Port Canaveral and now I'm stressing. Thanks.

You've got an outside shot of making it if you're off the ship early. We booked returns from IAH when sailing out of Houston, when Houston had a port, about six years ago. We got off the ship relatively early (around 8:30), waited only about 10 minutes in customs, got our car and made the hour plus ride from the port to IAH only to have missed our flight time. Actually, it worked well for us in that the original flight was cancelled anyway, so we got rebooked. With Galveston being at least an hour from IAH, I wouldn't risk it.

IAH is about 1.5 hours from Galveston on a good. Traffic in Houston can be HORRIBLE on weekdays so if you arrive on a Mon-Fri, it's gonna be a lot longer! Then security, ect. Even on a weekend, don't think I'd isk it.

If you can change, I would. You are cutting it close.

Do you have passports? Galveston has separate customs lines for passports and non-passports. Every time I've cruised from Galveston, the passport lines are empty and there is a long wait for the other line.

Are you arriving back on a weekend? This will help you. To get to IAH, you have to around the loop (long) or straight through Houston (traffic).

Can you do the self-carry option with your luggage? If so, on my recent Magic cruise that option was supposed to be available starting pretty early (7 am, I think?).

At least two cruises this year alone have been delayed coming back in Galveston due to fog. Change your flight.

I was actually able to talk to someone in customer service who took pity on me and waived the $450 change fee for a later flight so no more worrying. Thank you for the replies.

Great news! I think that early flight time would be cutting it too close.

Hmm...Now you have me thinking. Our flight is out of Hobby at 12:40. I should be fine, right? We have passports and we are concierge, so I think that we can get off the boat early, is that right? We also have DCL transfers to Hobby. Now I am a little worried. I don't think there was an option for a later flight into PWM or I would have booked it. I remember the next one was like the next day.
