DH and I had decided to skip Napa Rose this next trip in favor of Carthay Circle, but now I am totally re-thinking that decision! Your report has my mouth watering for some scallops and hot chocolate.

Can't wait for our next visit and I am so glad yours turned out so beautifully. Happy Valentine's Day!
Arch this is what I did last August. We went to Carthay Circle instead of our usual visit to Napa Rose. I have to say that I did regret it. While Carthay had some very good dishes, some were disappointing. And the Carthay's service was no where near level of service of the Napa Rose. While I was glad to try the new place, it was in my estimation at about a 6.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 whereas Napa Rose has always been a 9 or 10. Maybe in the future I will go to the Carthay lounge for drinks but for a big expensive luxurious dinner, Napa Rose is the place. I've never regretted paying the bill as I've always felt I got more than my money's worth at Napa Rose (even way back when when my son was 4 year old and squirming his way through a Napa Rose meal.)

I'd love the recipe too if you would be okay sharing. I can't eat it but love having crowd pleasers for the entertaining we do! Thanks so much! And now definitely looking forward to eating at NR. We are going to suck up the high cost of the babysitting service for this one and sounds like it will be more than worth it.

I must say that I am a mac & cheese fan and would love to have the recipe as well.

If you don't mind sharing, I would love the recipe too. Their mac and cheese is to die for.
