Judy, thanks for sharing the pictures. When we did the ambulatory EEG that's how they wrapped JJ's head, but I said there is no way he'd keep that on. So they put on reinforcements. Is she have a video EEG? I remember having to lug around the video monitor and the backpack. Glad you were able to get INR counts. Hope her black and blues heal quickly, and they aren't as painful as they look.

Please tell David his work was great!

I'm so sorry your parents OR brother didn't ask. Maybe next time you have him at the hospital you can take him to medical records to ask for a copy of his reports? That way you'll have it in black and white.

Wow - David's catapult looks amazing! Thanks for posting the pictures. Had to smile at Lisa's fashionable cap - not even having her head wrapped up like that can take that sweet grin off her face. Judy, I hope you can find out what is going on with your dad's heart valve. So frustrating!

Crystal, praying for John and YOU. I'm so sorry he is experiencing more pain and I'm sure it takes its toll on you, as well, as his caregiver.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day with your families. I got a very lopsided cake made for dessert (a rare treat, we never do dessert), but mostly I just want to stay in and hunker down as it is snowing here and just plain cold! DH and I are both under the weather with some viral thing, not enough to call us "sick", just achy, chilled and blah. He also got a call yesterday that the last job he interviewed for (called him back 5 times for various interviews) passed him over in favor of the internal candidate (although the guy calling said DH was far and away the best candidate they interviewed, he just had no education experience and it was a university, so the board of regents wanted their own guy in there even though he was "less qualified"), so he was kind of down about that. I know God has something better for him somewhere, but this seemed so perfect fit-wise for him and we wouldn't have had to move. Ah, well, no use whining about it now that it is all said and done!

David's catapult looks great...he should consider being an engineer

I am glad Lisa's bruise is improving. She has such a beautiful smile...even with the contraption on her head! Hope the results are good.

No I didn't notice them ringing, but thank you for your concern. I was very thankful we didn't lose power and my DD9 promised God that she would go to every CCD class without complaining if He kept the power on.

She only lost power for a few hours so she was lucky there, but they didn't get plowed out until late Sunday night.

Glad you never lost power
Believe it or not most of the snow is melting away and it is suppose to be 50° tomorrow but I agree with your realtor you probably would need to have it plowed.

And guess what..... more snow is on the way for Sat night/Sun

Thanks Jennie, so happy you were able to spend time with your parents! I will update about Lisa. Thanks for checking in when you have time.
I have a brand-new Twitter account and I linked Lisa's video, so hopefully others will see it and maybe spread the word. I also blogged about it. Watched her Les Mis song video, and wow, so great!!!!

I don't twitter but so appreciate your doing that!

Continuing to lift you all up in prayer, sorry to have fallen behind!!!

THANK YOU!! (You know I seem to stay behind)

Views on 2/13 were 101. We are getting closer, but need more views. If you all wouldn't mind resending it out and asking them to watch it again I would greatly appreciate it!

And I did watch the Les Mis video but not until the end -- the piano was just too overbearing and I could barely hear Lisa.

Hmmm, do you have both the youtube volume and your computer volume up. She really CAN be heard better, even with the piano.

ETA I just rechecked the count and now it is up to reflect what I watched today so I have it back on

They were all wearing them at one time but then James decided he didn't want to wear his anymore.

I LOVE that it has such an eclectic mix of characters! I KNEW I recognized the capes from the website!

Thank you for the kind words about our pictures! I see some and go wow I how come ours aren't taht good but then when I get nice comments like these then I know they aren't half bad!!

You r pics are WONDERFUL, just like your family!

Yes I do know how to spell but I didn't even realize it!! I knew what you were saying and I guess that's all that matters!! I also pick typos over responses. We love to hear from you!!

We are on the same wavelength, because my Typos even make ME scratch my head if I see them later.

I like "incentives" better too!! What just frustrates the heck out of me about the whole thing is she loves school! She was fine all the way from September to about mid January and then she started this. Nothings changed!! That's the strangest part.

Have you asked her if anything feels differently? Sometimes, they just simply go through different phases, moods.

You do what you got to do when it comes to helping your kids succeed. I'm glad David was able to do that!!

SOOO True!

That's the same thing his Doctor said when I talked to him about it. It's still frustrating though. An example of what's going on when it happens is this: Today after picking Jeremy up from school we were walking back to the van and I was hold James hand, with Jeremy and Sarah walking in front of me. He decided he didn't want to hold my hand anymore and started trying to bite me, I was able to keep twisting my hand and telling him "NO". Then he dropped to the ground and refused to walk so I picked him up and carried him to the car. And what does he do.... tries to bite my shoulder, arm, anything he can sink his teeth into!! Luckily I had Jeremy's library book in my other hand and put it between me and him and he stopped. He became more interested in the book so I let him carry it the rest of the way to the van. Felt bad the book started getting the abuse but I didn't want to get bit!!

Better the book than you! This WILL pass! We have all been through different things like this (and send you our understanding) , and biting is always hard because you don't want anyone hurt and you don't want HIM, getting GERMS!

Sarah is orally fixated on stuff. She likes to put everything in her mouth but she doesn't bite much. Only when her brother really pisses her off!!! That's a story for another time and I have the picture to prove what she does!!

I had one like that, chewed, gummed, EVERYTHING! Some of the speech therapy tubies helped and with Lisa, they WANTED her to chew. Her therapist suggested cow tales candy, slim jims, bubblelicious in small bites (with my supervision), bagels...for Lisa it strengthend her chewing, for Sarah it would wear her out. Also icemaker tubing you buy at a hardware store is MUCH cheaper than PT tubing!

I am taking it as easy as I can. I was able to take a really good nap this afternoon and didn't wake up with a headache which is a good thing!! I still can't talk much due to the coughing (have larengites sp?) but am resting that as much as possible too.

Still praying for ALL of the needs, spoken and not!

Thank you! I got in a really nice nap today and woke up still unable to talk much (due to all the coughing) but at least my head wasn't pounding!!

YEA!

Send me a PM when you get a chance. I'd love to help JJ get a cape. What's his favorite colors, characters, and what initial would you like on it? A very close friend that I met at my children's preschool last year does special events at our local Ronald McDonald house and other Children's Hospital's to help sick children get super hero capes so they can be the true hero's they are!! She has just become a nonprofit and has just started to have Superhero Celebrations all over the US. She was just in PA and NC on Feb 2 and Feb 5 for the first one's outside of CA. I've seen pictures and it's amazing the smiles these simple capes put on these children's faces. If anyone is interested in more about who she is and what she does send me a PM and I'll send you her website.

GREAT ORGANIZATION!!! I KNEW you could help Tink!

This was our first time doing this breakfast and I've heard about the strange mix and we finally decided it was time to do it. I mainly did it for Captain Hook for my oldest son. He loved it!!!

Love it!

Jack and Sally are only out from September to the first week or so of January. It's when they change the Haunted Mansion from the normal version to the Nightmare Before Christmas version. I was talking to a CM about 2 years ago when I met them the first time and she said at that time they had only been coming out for a couple years. I think (I'm probably wrong on the year) she said that their first year out was in 2008 and that they were such a hit they got the approval to keep having them come back. We got lucky and only waited about 15 mins before we got to meet them.

Sounds like such a great time, especially since Jeremy loves them!

Thanks! It wasn't planned I promise!!!

Judy love the video of Lisa!! Can't wait to hear what the good news is!! I'm still sharing the video daily so I'm glad to hear the numbers are still going up!!

Thank you! I really want to share!

Hope you figured out which valve it was!! Hope your able to get all the answer's you need this week with all the tests that are going on. Continued prayers for your family and others who are needing it.

NO clue and they will not call. I can't get over there the past two days to "force" them to do it either...My Dad would have ot give oral consetn onthe phone for me to talk to them.

Thanks Krystal, I knew you would understand.

Thanks for asking about John. We got another opinion when he started coughing up blood last week. Unfortunatly its no better than the first. I was surprised how bad that shook me. I really thought I had accepted itbut I think Id been holding on to hope that a different Dr. Would have new ideas on what to do and having that hope dash really knocked meoff my feet. John has had a massive increase in pain latly and we have an apt. on Friday with pain mgmt. to address it. Along with the pain has come a decrease in balance and he fell twicee this week so we were back in the ER. The falls were both in the bathroom which makes me madbecause we are STILL waiting on his VA bathroom remodel. Idont think getting it done while he is still here to use it is too much to ask.

I am at a loss of good words to say too you right now, This has hurt my heart deeply and I can only imagine how tough each day truly is. The VA outrages me, this BR remodel has been waiting for a LONG time, it is outrageous. I really get the balance issue, how scary for you all! Just know you have MANY praying for your miracle and I am here if you need me.

On the up side Tessas sixteenth birthday was yesterday and John felt well enough to participate in celebrations for her. He bought her a beautiful ring and told her he would always be watching over her. I hope he feels well next week as we have a surprise party with he friends planned and I cant wait to see how she reacts. Hope you have a good day tomorrow.

I can't believe Tessa turned 16!!! WOW! She has grown up into a beautiful young lady! I KNOW the party will be special and I am so Thankful JOhn is there. Praying for a wonderful celebration full of memories, love and pictures!

Judy I swear your thread is a fast mover. I go a few days without reading and BAM! I am sorry to hear about Lisa falling at theater. Poor thing. I pray that she is okay.

I understand, I love to see so many here, EVERYONE is welcome and I do remember you all (even posts like this written several days ago)! She feel agin last night, I will update...

Thank you! I feel as though we are blessed and that it is due to the prayers that lifted us up.

I TOTALLY AGREE!

Great pictures from Rachel's fundraiser.

Thank you!

Oh my gosh I just sat and watched the video. I am crying and I can think of no way to articulate how this makes me feel. I am going to post it on Facebook right now. Incidently there are 5,332 likes as of right now!

PLEASE keep sharing! Did yo see the Les Mis video?

My heart goes out to Lisa. I know that dance is so important to her. I am heary broken for her.

I know you get it!

I hope everything goes well for your dad.

So many needs to sort out for him!

I would be curious to see how many people like the link on each of our Facebooks. If we add those to the youtube likes. Who knows how many likes she will get?

She is intent on watching that count. I try to distract her about it, I want it to be a surprise! We need SO many more!

I am glad to hear that insurance approved the EEG.

Glad it is finished.

I am furious that the Drs office did that to you! Jerks! Poor Christian. Ooh lunch in the cafeteria. Wow.

We are scheduled for today, I am calling before we drive all the way over there!

Yay for not falling at ballet!!

Ballet was good, it was after ballet yesterday...

HA, I captured quotes before the DIS went down, so I could type and post when it came back up. Usually, I miss the time, today I was quicker...and the DIS was back UP quicker! !

My 12 year old broke two bones his arm this week and I have had more than my share of hospitals and doctors this week. I really don't know how you do it every week except that I know that you do because you are a mom!!

Fortunately, DS will be fine but he is worried about his baseball position. He plays catcher and if all heals right he will be cleared to play the week before the season starts. There are two other catchers and one (third string one) always trash talks him trying to win the position. His dad even makes sure to point out any mistake my son makes to the coach to try and get his kid to start. It is so frustrating! The second catcher is the coaches son and my son joined the team several years after it started. After three games DS was made starter and the coach said he earned it. I know the coach is fair but am not sure how weak his arm will be once the cast is removed. He will also miss the rest of the basketball season and a soccer tournament. I certainly know sports don't rank very high in life's important events but to a 12 year old boy, they are his world.

Have a wonderful day!

Debbie
Debbie, Thank you for sharing the video for us and for being here.

I am praying for a speedy, non-eventful recovery for your son. Sports ARE important and they DO matter. Lisa broke two different bones in her arm and tore the periosteum on both sides several years ago. She had to have it rest in the OR , it was a horrible break (she fell). Three months in a cast, 6 months in a brace...but those bones are stronger than eve in that spot. I HOPE with good healing and maybe a splint, your DS will be back on the field for the season!

I want to reiterate, we do NOT think a need is too small, just let us know, we are al a friendly bunch. Contrary to popular belief, many DON'T know each other here, but get to know and pray for their needs! PLEASE don't think you r need is to "trivial" that is far from the truth. Just jump in, someone will say hello if I am distracted!

Thanks Lisa! I am going to take some up-close pics to show the detail better. He did great within the time constraints he had.

I meant to post, yesterday, that I watched the video with Lisa singing. She has such an amazing voice!

She started working on a blues song on Tuesday, I am blown away, seriously...

You asked how John's mother was doing...she's doing better but it's still hard to get the point across to her that she HAS to follow-up with the doctors. John and his brothers and sister keep telling her that they have to keep check on her and watch how she is responding to the physical therapy and the meds. We did find out that the physical therapist will be coming directly to their house two to three days a week which is good because I can totally see her trying to cop out of going to p.t. This way, they are coming to her and she doesn't have an excuse.

THANK YOU for the update! What is the deal with these parents, it is worrisome. PTL PT will come to the house. My Dad has managed to send his away, with the promise to go to Pulmonary rehab..and he will not go....

I hope that you can talk your parents into at least calling to doctor's office and talk to the nurse. They really need to know exactly what the plan is.

They are too "busy"...

I complain about John's parents not listening/asking but I can honestly say that my daddy, God rest his soul, would ask 1001 questions. He started getting sick when I was in middle school and it all went downhill from there. He was in and out of the hospital 29 times from October to January with most of those visits being in ICU. He would follow the doctors' orders to a T and still he suffered.

I can tell you still miss him!
I truly am sorry for all you endured and for what HE endured. I think things like that change us as people...some for good, as in your case, some become stunted in their growth and relationships.

Oh well, enough fussing and grumbling. It won't get me anywhere, now will it? I need to focus on all the wonderful things that God has blessed me with!

Continued prayers!

You weren't grumbling, just sharing! God HAS blessed you, but you still have a full plate!

DD and I keep posting the video to our Facebook pages and we keep watching to video as well, so hopefully Lisa will hit her magic number!!!

THANK YOU, I truly appreciate that!

I read every post, but I forget to mak them so I will say to all who are struggling, you have my prayers and to all who have had good news, Congrats!!!!

This last week or so has been pretty rough. I have CHF and my EKG was abnormal. I spent the last weekend in the hospital with tests upon test. The verdict is simply that the disease is progressing and while my body gets enough oxygen, my heart does not. Oh well, such is life and I am not going to spend my time worrying about what if and how long. Right now I feel fine, even if I tire easily and I have a Disney trip in 8 months!!!!

DD has JRA and that is also an auto-immune disease. She missed three weeks of school. First week she has A strain flu, second week bronchitis and third week B strain. She keeps running fevers and everything is negative right now, Her doctor says her immune system is compromised, so she is going to be put on the hospital homebound program until these fevers stop and she gets caught up.

I love reading about everyone and I adore all the TRs. I know this is not my thread and I didn't mean to hijack it with what is going on in my life, it just seems you people will best understand.

Prayers to each of you!

I remember your original post about all of your needs and have been praying. I am sorry it sounds as if none of them are having great resolutions. Please know I will continue to pray.

Thank you! David's was AWESOME! I should have taken Lisa's pics for the back, she had this chin strap David and Rachel never needed. You know, ALL of my children have had EEG's, three have had Ambulatory EEG's (what Lisa had this time), Two have had Video EEG's (Up to 96 hours at a time) and ALL have had sleep studies...it is just to much, isn't it? Don't get me started on all of the other testing...I would be Financially rich if it wasn't for all of this "stuff"...I don't know why I wrote al of that, but I am not taking it out. They ALL are so tough/strong/brave and have endured much, with smiles just like my fashionista Lisa!

I am watching the video again today, but not as much as yesterday. I played it at least 68 times yesterday and I don't think the count went up enough to validate all my views. It went up 118 counts and surely I could not have accounted for 58% of the views.

THANK YOU ANDREA for all you have done to help...perhaps you could force al of your patients to watch!

Took my car in this morning for my free oil change and other maintenance work was needed so spent way more than I wanted to even though I opted out of some of the work Then I went to JCP to buy MYSELF something b/c I had a $10 coupon off a $10 or more purchase and I found NOTHING! I did see some workout pants I liked on clearance but they were not in my size. I haven't bought myself anything in eons. I will go to a different JCP tomorrow and if I can't find anything I'll buy the kids an item of clothing. I can't pass up on my free $10!

SO SORRY about the car! Pete's has to go back tomorrow for at least $200 more work..It is sickening. I wish you had found something for you at JCP, you deserve something new! I haven't bought myself anything new, but I did receive some pretty nifty clothes in September...

Our realtor called yesterday. We never lost power at the house which is good as that meant our pipes didn't freeze. Though I was thinking of a little reduction in our electric bill Bad news is we have to have the drive plowed b/c she has a showing on Saturday. She's had a few showings lately and everyone likes the house but no one makes an offer If I am paying to plow the drive I want an offer!!!

You KNOW we are all praying fervently for this with you!

Hi Ruth! Good to *see* you and hope you are fairing well health wise. You had better stay healthy b/c you have a trip coming up soon!
YEA FOR A TRIP FOR RUTH!!!!
Beverly, sorry you spent the weekend in the hospital. I hope things improve for you.
Me too!
Tracy -- I love the photos you posted from your time line -- very sweet indeed
Me too! Hi Lisa B
Me too! Debbie -- sorry about your ds's broken arm. At his age he should have a speedy recovery.
Me too!

Gail -- glad your dh's fasting bs is heading in the right direction albeit still much higher than I know it needs to be.
Me too!
Prayers to all and a Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I pooed out this year and let dd give away boxed cards *gasp*! DS didn't want to pass any out. Guess that's what happens when you are an 11 y/o boy. DH bought me a bag of peanut butter m&m's
Me too! (My new name!) Andrea, I could hire you as my secretary...will you take compliments for payment???

That is sort of what they tell you when you ask them...it is still very vague, some count, some don't it does depend o how closely together you watch it...

It appears if one keeps hitting refresh/reload the watches are not counted.
So True!

I will, Thank you!
I work at a very large university here in Arizona and the Engineering students built a big catapult a couple semesters ago - they tested it out on the athletic fields. It doesn't look even half as nice as David's and these are students who are close to having degrees in Engineering so...he really did a great job!
You are very kind. Do you mind sharing what you do at the University...Professor, Admin,Student Services, Nurse? I always thought it might be fun to work on a campus!
Enjoy your day with your family.

Oh Judy - thank you for asking about my Mom. Her recovering is coming along well - she is gaining her strength back day by day. She thought it would be quicker but she is trying to be patient. Her and my Dad are staying at my sister's house as she had the surgery here in Phoenix instead of their small town hospital.

SO happy to read this! It is hard to want our bodies to do something they aren't ready to do. I pray your Mom continues to get better/stronger each day and she feels like herself very soon! It was wise for your Mom to seek out a bigger hospital!!

Hope her black and blues heal quickly, and they aren't as painful as they look.
They have ALWAYS used an ace type bandage in the past...

I have more pics, but these were on the last few pages of my PB account and easy to get to. Plus David and Rachel look so cute! NO, on order to do a VEEG we MUST be hospitalized. I can't imagine how they would expect you to know when to videotape, it is the subtle ones that need to be captured ...big ones are obvious.

Her bruises "are just bruises, no big deal Mom"...except to ME! The big on e on her thigh and hip ARE panful though she denies it. I see her wince every now and then.

Please tell David his work was great!
I will, Thank you!
I'm so sorry your parents OR brother didn't ask. Maybe next time you have him at the hospital you can take him to medical records to ask for a copy of his reports? That way you'll have it in black and white.

My brother's memory and ability to follow instructions is far worse than my parents... If Christian had taken them I would know...I have a stack of reports...just NOT his heart! I always seem to miss that. He has only been once since he got out of the hospital.

No doubt, she can carry a tune!
and I can't!

Thank you Amy, David will be happy. Isn't Lisa so cute! She wore the gown Lynn made her with the headband to sleep in Wednesday night so I didn't have to deal with over the head shirts. She was upset the headband wouldn't fit over her wires!

The cake sounds MARVELOUS!!!

I am truly sorry about DH job NOT panning out. It is very difficult when you see a job that seems so perfect for you go to someone else. I am praying for God to send the perfect job for him and to sustain you all as you wait!

Thank you Judy. He really likes the electrical/mechanical side of things and is fabulous with his hands.

I am glad Lisa's bruise is improving. She has such a beautiful smile...even with the contraption on her head! Hope the results are good.

THANK YOU very much! We really need them to be good and to not throw us any curves. Lisa deserves to be able to enjoy the things ahead unencumbered with medical stuff weighing her down.

Now it is shower time!

Thanks Michelle, Tell your son they didn't judge at the last minute, still not sure why?? To be honest, Davids looked the best to me and his accuracy was uncanny, he only missed once by the slimmest of margins. He had fun, so that was really what he was after he said.

No I didn't notice them ringing, but thank you for your concern. I was very thankful we didn't lose power and my DD9 promised God that she would go to every CCD class without complaining if He kept the power on.

That is one way to get God to listen! I love the Faith a a child!

I am thankful you DIDN'T lose power, we WERE concerned!

She only lost power for a few hours so she was lucky there, but they didn't get plowed out until late Sunday night.

Bless their hearts!

Believe it or not most of the snow is melting away and it is suppose to be 50° tomorrow but I agree with your realtor you probably would need to have it plowed.
YEA for snow melting!!! That is a lot to melt though!
And guess what..... more snow is on the way for Sat night/Sun

YIKES!!! It is getting VERY cold here (it has been pretty nice except for the rain) and we will have precipitation tomorrow night..we will see if it does anything here...

What a cool picture.
What you can't just leave us hanging.

I am sorry , I was just so excited I had to mention it!

I am so happy you did, GREAT PICTURE!

Wow! I hope Lisa's bruise starts looking even better soon!! Love David's catapult. Just a quick question Lisa like Belle and pink? Or does she have a different favorite color?
TAHNK YOU!! Lisa loves Belle of course and Pink IS her color (along with "turquoise, red, yellow and orange"..I think I forgot one. She loves them all She loves most "everything". Such a joyful heart.)
Yes I'm already on it to get JJ a cape made.

I KNEW you would, you are the BEST! He will LOVE IT!!!!

Hope your able to get some answer's on which valve for your dad. I know it's frustrating when you ask someone to do something and you knmow they aren't that busy to not geet the info they need. Continued prayer's for your family!!

Thanks Sandra!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! (don't know how I forgot that!!)

It didn't FEEL like Valentines Day...

It was NOT fun...and it was my long day. One MD, ballet, 4+ hours at school of rock and David had his teen meeting which Rachel had to miss...

Pete beat me to the shower because I was typing so I better run! YIKES!
